Rhode Island Monthly's President and Publisher John J. Palumbo announced that the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) was voted "Best Theatre" in the 2012 Rhode Island Monthly Readers' Poll at last night's annual Best of Rhode Island Party. This is the fourth consecutive year that PPAC has won in the "Best Theatre" category. The Party has been held at PPAC for the past eight years; all proceeds from the event benefit the NEW PPAC/Rhode Island Monthly initiative Learn It To Earn It, an educational program providing underprivileged Rhode Island students with access to the performing arts.

PPAC President J.L. "Lynn" Singleton said, "Thank you to the readers of Rhode Island Monthly for this wonderful recognition! We are thrilled to have received this honor four years in a row."

The Best of Rhode Island issue of Rhode Island Monthly hits newsstands at the end of July.

PPAC's upcoming 35th Broadway Season includes the Taco/The White Family Foundation Broadway Series: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (October 7 – 14, 2012), ELF (November 4 – 10, 2012), MEMPHIS (December 4 – 9, 2012), JEKYLL & HYDE (January 1 – 6, 2013), MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET (January 15 – 20, 2013), SISTER ACT (April 9 – 14, 2013), and War Horse (June 5 – 9, 2013). The National Tours of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and ELF will launch at PPAC this fall.

The return engagement of JERSEY BOYS comes to PPAC, August 15 – September 2, 2012, and is part of the Contemporary Classics Series.
