Alicia Keys can write the hell out of a song. Her catalog has been the soundtrack to heartbreaks and first loves for more than two decades. Hell's Kitchen, the Grammy winner's semi-autobiographical musical now at the Paramount Theatre, is a welcome reminder of just how singular her music really is. The R&B musical may stumble as a coming-of-age drama, but as a celebration of Keys' artistry, it's, well, on fire.

For almost a decade now, MSMT, together with the Brunswick downtown Association’s Music on the Mall, has presented, on the town green, a large outdoor concert free for the citizens of Brunswick, greater Maine and beyond. But Dacha Theatre’s Shakespeare Dice lets fate decide the actors’ roles and scene order in their rendition of As You Like It. That should make the story clearer, right? Oh, and it takes place in a honky tonk karaoke bar. And it’s interactive.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully staged Agatha Christie classic, with its atmospheric set, clever lighting and excellent performances led by Alan Committie's delightful Hercule Poirot. A gripping whodunnit that kept me guessing right to the final reveal.
In the fantastical, visually-enchanting stage play HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD—the theatrical continuation of J.K. Rowling's beloved magical saga—the idea of revisiting the past is embraced as its central theme, which in turn shifts the focus away from the mischievous school adventures that made the original franchise a global phenomenon, but, instead, explores the far messier realities of adulthood, parenthood, regret, generational trauma, and the very concept of leaving behind a proud legacy. The resulting stage show is a marvel of theatrical magic, mesmerizing in spectacle and movement, and filled with fantastical elements that will have audiences spellbound—even if the play 'borrows' its machinations from Back to the Future Part II.

The musical numbers overall are so well executed it would be unfair to single out any over the rest. One could almost see the high-quality performance throughout this production as an issue. Although, the premise suggests the cast, with the exception of one or two individuals, are all young and inexperienced, most of them come across as well seasoned professionals that certainly deliver the goods.
On April 30th-May 3rd 2026, the theatre community Svatuhari hosted their annual event Svathefest 2026 with the theme “Jagat Fantasi”. This event was hosted for four days, with each of the four days having a different pre-show before their main one. In 2026, their main show was titled THE PANDAWAS: AMBISI TRI MANDALA.
