Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival, Crystal Field, Exec.Dir., presents the NY premiere of Breaking the Trust, a darkly humorous new play written by Bill Rogers, directed by Gerald vanHeerden. Inspired by true events, the play finds four sisters reuniting in their childhood home for the funeral of their younger brother. As they navigate their grief, a stunning revelation disrupts their fragile reunion; their seemingly aimless and usually unemployed brother has left behind a 4 million dollar estate and a trust that benefits only two ot them. How did he come by this money, and why did he disinherit two of his sisters? As old rivalries are reignited and new betrayals come to life, the sisters embark on an often comical journey to confront the meaning of family and the price of buried truths.
