Beirut Wedding World Theatre Project presents Reborning by Zayd Dohrn, a dark comedy about a troubled young artist who makes baby dolls that look like real babies.

The definition of art, how we deal with loss and the mystery of creation are also subjects of this tight, well-constructed, three person dark comedy. How do we heal from loss? What is the engine of art? How does a woman own her life in the 21st century? Who owns any given work of art, the artist or the audience? None of these questions are answered in this play, but all of them and more are confronted and explored. This play doesn’t fall into easy labels or categories.

This work of art is being produced by the Beirut Wedding World Theatre Project, the brain child of Bobby Bermea and Jamie M. Rea. Bermea and Rea seek to create theatre that challenges the dominant cultural paradigm in order to create a more tolerant, expansive and celebratory philosophy. Tiffany Groben, who stars as Kelly, brought Beirut Wedding the script and is one of the up-and-coming young stars in the Portland theatre scene.
