Portland Center Stage Announces Major Changes To 2009/2010 Season

Three studio titles will change and one production will move to the Main Stage in a major revision of the Portland Center Stage 2009/2010 season. Early strong seller The Chosen will move to the Main Stage, replacing Joe Turner's Come and Gone (which will be deferred to future season). In the studio, a possible Broadway tour causes our production of Thurgood Marshall to be postponed, and The Best So Far will be put on hold to give it a bit more gestation (and New York fundraising) time.
HENRY VII Opens Oregon Shakespeare Festival Summer Season 6/12

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open its summer season with one of Shakespeare's rarely produced history plays, Henry VIII. Last produced at OSF in 1984, the play will be staged with all the spectacle of the Field of the Cloth of Gold. Some tickets remain available for previews and openings. Gallery Theatre To Hold Auditions For TAFFETA MEMORIES 5/18

Portland Center Stage presents Grey Gardens: The Musical, the Broadway smash hit inspired by the cult documentary classic that redefined our notions of eccentricity, American royalty and glamour in decline. Grey Gardens: The Musical previews on Tuesday May 26th, opens on Friday, May 29th and runs through June 21st, 2009. Tickets range from $33.50 to $68.50, with student and under 30 discounts available. Rush tickets for Grey Gardens are $15 and available starting 10 minutes prior to curtain. Show times are 7:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday, with a 2:00 pm Sunday matinee and alternating Saturday 2:00 pm and Sunday 7:30 pm performances. Acorn Holds '09 Southern Maine Combined Theatre Auditions 6/16-6/22 In Westbrook

Acorn Productions will be holding the 2009 Southern Maine Combined Theater Auditions on Tuesday, June 16th from 6pm-9:30pm and on Monday, June 22nd from 5pm-8:30pm at the new Acorn Studio Theater in the Dana Warp Mill at 90 Bridge St. in Westbrook. The Monday, June 22nd auditions will be followed by a social gathering at the studio theater for the theater community.

Portland State University School of Fine And Performing Arts and the Department of Theater Arts is set to present The Imaginary Invalid by Molière. This Oregon premiere of a new adaption by Constance Congdon is directed by Glenn Gauer. Performances at Portland Center for the Performing Arts will be in the Dolores Winningstad Theater and will take place Saturday, May 30 - Sunday, June 7, 2009: Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 31 & June 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Season tickets for the 2009-2010 season are on sale now and prices range from $140.00 - $150.00.
