Artists Repertory Theatre Presents The Hillsboro Story, Opens 10/15

Real stories from 1954-56 Hillsboro, Ohio bring to life the not-so-distant history of school desegregation in the early years of the Civil Rights Movment. The Hillsboro Story weaves spoken word, movement and jazz with a trajectory of school and community outreach.
ZOOZOO to Move to New Victory

Imago Theatre is proud to announce that its latest family hit ZooZoo will be playing at the prestigious New Victory Theater on 42nd and Broadway for a two-week limited run October 15 to 24, 2010. This is Imago's third time at the New Victory after sold out performances of FROGZ (2002) and Frogs, Lizards, Orbs and Slinkys (2000.)
Miracle Theatre Group Presents VIVA DON JUAN, 10/28-11/14

From Oct. 28 through Nov. 14, Miracle Theatre Group is pleased to display an exhibit of ofrendas (altars) created by local Latino artists in celebration of Día de los muertos (Day of the Dead). The exhibit, curated by Pepe Moscoso of FusionArte is free and open to the public one hour prior to each performance of Miracle Theatre Group's original, bilingual production ¡Viva Don Juan! plus 12 noon-2pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

After 42 years of spectacular performances at Gallery Theater, the costume shop is bursting at the seams. So, just in time for Halloween, we are having a GIANT costume sale! Not only are we clearing out many old costumes, we are also getting rid of lots of garments (pants, shirts, blouses, shoes and accessories). We are thinning out our collection of fabric and trims. Our talented team of volunteers has also been busy creating brand new costumes and hats....witches, wizards, pirates and princesses, fairies and fantastic creations for all 'kids' from 5 to 105. Prices range from $1 to $100.

On October 7th, theater enthusiasts will witness local theater history in the making with the opening of Mad Horse Theatre Company's 2010-2011 season. That date launches the silver anniversary of Maine's premier ensemble theater company that, over 25 critically acclaimed seasons, has built a reputation for cutting-edge productions that illuminate the human experience. It also signifies the Maine premiere of an American classic celebrating the 20th Anniversary of its original Broadway run: Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare.

Former Ashland Associate Artistic Director Penny Metropulos and veteran performer Joseph Graves will pick up the gauntlet thrown by adaptors Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson and spin the western world's oldest yarn into a freshly riveting tale in An Iliad, launching a thousand ships this Fall in the Ellyn Bye Studio. An Iliad previews on Tuesday September 28th, opens on Friday, October 1st, and runs Tuesday through Sunday through November 21st. Tickets start at $32, with student and under 30 discounts available. Rush tickets are $20. Show times are 7:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday, with a 2:00 pm Sunday matinee and alternating Saturday 2:00 pm and Sunday 7:30 pm performances.
