Pittsburgh CLO has joined forces with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to sponsor a food drive throughout the run of A Musical Christmas Carol, now - December 23 at the Byham Theater. Barrels to collect non-perishable donations will be set up in the lobby of the Byham Theater at each performance. Audiences donated over 1,000 pounds of food during Pittsburgh CLO's last collaboration with the Food Bank in 2009.
Community outreach has been at the core of Pittsburgh CLO's mission since its inception in 1946. Among other efforts, Pittsburgh CLO's Kelly Circle Program annually provides thousands of complimentary tickets to students, seniors and special audiences, including the clients of over 150 service organizations in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. Established in 1990, Pittsburgh CLO's "A" in Arts program awards two free Summer Season tickets to students in grades 9 - 12 who earn an "A" in a visual or performing arts class. Pittsburgh CLO also has partnered with WTAE for 8 years in an effort to help raise funds for the "Project Bundle-Up" program.A Musical Christmas Carol is being presented at the Byham Theater (6th & Fort Duquesne Boulevard) now - December 23.
