Prescott Fine Arts Association is proud to present in association with the Prescott Public Library, DEAR LOVE at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at the Prescott Public Library. The play is written by Jerome Kitty and directed by Parker Anderson. Admission is free though donations are appreciated. A discussion of the play will take place at the conclusion of the reading.

Fountain Hills Community Theater's production of the funniest, most honored musical in the history of Broadway, The Producers, is being extended an additional weekend. Outrageous, hilarious, unexpected, a wee bit naughty and a sure-fire hit! Debuting on Broadway in 2001, this Mel Brooks musical quickly racked up a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The Producers follows the adventures and misadventures of Max Bialystock, a washed up Broadway producer and Leo Bloom, a timid accountant with dreams of becoming a producer. Together they set out to produce a full-fledged flop - and fleece their investors in the process - but unwittingly wind up with a hit on their hands. These two schemers will sing and dance their way through the greatest show biz scam there ever was!

Theatre Artists Studio announced TWO plays in repertory by award-winning playwright Hal Corley to open up the New Year: Suocera and Mama and Jack Carew . The plays will run on alternating evenings. Patrons can see one play for the normal individual ticket price, or take advantage of the Combo Deal and see both plays on different nights for a discount below the price of two normal tickets.

Using everyday, ordinary objects such as tree stumps, pieces of wood found in lakes and the desert, glass bottles recovered from dump sites; salvaged metal objects; and old fabric scraps to create art has a long tradition. These are possible subjects or materials for the artwork to be shown in 'The Beauty of Common Things.' Artists will be taking another look at everyday things to find an unexpected surprise in a common object, place or element of nature, or they will be honoring a thing of beauty as it is. Others will use shapes, textures, and the colors of things around them for inspiration.

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH comes to spectacular life at Theater Works. Beginning this evening Youth Works presents Roald Dahl's amazing story JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. The play follows the traditional James and the Giant Peach that children know and love but with some fantastical elements. Adapted by David Wood the play is '... a great introduction for first-timers to the work of the masterful Dahl ... a theatrical treat for children and adults alike.' Belfast Newsletter. Performing in the McMillin Black Box the theater is being used in ways that it has never been used before. The costumes and props are inspired by the 'steam punk' genre and there will be exciting shadow puppet sequences, which take place in the 'shadow world'. This extraordinary children's play will be a favorite among audiences with its new look but same timeless story. JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH runs February 3rd - 20th and tickets are on sale now.

The Department of Motor Vehicles. Source of aggravation, long lines and - love? In Panache by Don Gordon inconvenience and romance intersect in a collision of surprisingly rich characters. The show runs February 3 through February 20 at Canyon Moon Theatre.This unpredictable comedy starts out simply: Kathleen Trafalgar wants a license plate with the word 'Panache' on it, but Harry Baldwin has it. She is determined to get it for her husband and is willing to pay any price for it. Nothing is as straightforward as it seems, however, and what begins as a ridiculous squabble over the seemingly unimportant turns into a sometimes bittersweet, sometimes humorous quest to salvage two lives.
