Open Your Mouth: A Concert for Advocacy + Action at Main Line Unitarian Church

Main Line Unitarian Church, the illumine concert series, and the new Philadelphia-area arts initiative Incantra will collaboratively present "Open Your Mouth: A Concert for Advocacy + Action," on June 27, 2025.

"Open Your Mouth" sheds a light on some of today's most relevant social and political issues with its thoughtfully curated collection of music that span centuries, genres, and languages. Works presented will feature such composers as Stephen Sondheim, Hugo Wolf, and Paul Simon as well as texts by Langston Hughes, Bertolt Brecht, and Anne Frank. This fusion of popular music, opera, musical theater and contemporary art song will have something for everyone, and its lyrical content--from chilling personal accounts to snarky political commentary--will move, amuse, and inspire you to take action... and to "Open Your Mouth" for change!

The concert will feature vocalists Alyssa Brode, Timothy Faulkner, Marisa Robinson, Kira Scharf, and Rachel Sigman, as well as instrumentalists Kat Bowman and David Brown.

"Open Your Mouth" will take place at Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, PA, on Friday, June 27 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, available online in advance or at the door (suggested donation $25 per person). Proceeds will benefit Reclaim Philadelphia, a local organization that builds community power to win change, reclaim government for the people, and advance economic, racial, and gender justice.
