Bay Street Theater has just announced that MY FAIR LADY will be extended through September 4 due to popular demand. The classic musical has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. It is based on the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw and Gabriel Pascal's motion picture. The production is directed by Michael Arden, Tony Award nominee and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner for Best Director of a Musical for the Broadway revival of Spring Awakening. Today in 1993, the first Broadway revival of She Loves Me opened at Criterion Center Stage Right, where it ran for 354 performances. She Loves Me is a 1963 musical with a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock. The plot revolves around Budapest shop employees Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash who, despite being consistently at odds with each other at work, are unaware that each is the other's secret pen pal met through lonely-hearts ads. The Revival cast featured Boyd Gaines as Georg, Judy Kuhn as Amalia, Sally Mayes as Ilona, Howard McGillin as Kodaly, Lee Wilkof as Ladislav, Brad Kane as Arpad, and Louis Zorich as Mr. Maraczek. A revival cast recording was released by Varese Sarabande.

Just last week, Jay Armstrong Johnson (April 27-30); Drama Desk nominated, and Kleban Prize and Jonathan Larson Award Winning songwriter Joe Iconis (April 17); Laura Michelle Kelly (May 2, 16 & 30); Howard McGillin (May 11); and Tony Award winner Lea Salonga (April 15-17) gathered at Feinstein's/54 Below to preview their upcoming solo shows. After four previously sold out shows, Broadway's Cinderella, Tony nominee Laura Osnes and music director Benjamin Rauhala returned to host The Broadway Princess Party at Feinstein's/54 Below. The all-star cast sang the most beloved 'Princess' songs of stage and screen in a magical evening. Where else might a little mermaid duet with a beautiful bookworm? Or might an ice queen drink tea with a princess who keeps only dwarves for company? Might the princess with a lost glass slipper confide in a princess who lives in a tower, with the longest of hair?
