The Stella Adler Studio of Acting's Outreach Division will perform William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' tonight. The cast are members of the Outreach Division's Adler Youth Group, a free year-long after-school program. The students chosen for the program learn the same acting technique that helped cultivate the talents of Stella Adler alumni like Robert De Niro and Marlon Brando. This performance serves as a milestone project of the program, which has helped students gain confidence, avoid common urban influences like gangs and drugs, and provide a sense of community that will continue long after the program.
THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT, starring Bobby Cannavale, Chris Rock, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Annabella Sciorra and Yul Vázquez and directed by Anna D. Shapiro will open on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street, New York City).
