At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs. 

Paterson Music Project Performs At Prudential Center For NJ Devils Game

Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts' Paterson Music Project (PMP) returns for their third annual performance at the Prudential Center (25 Lafayette Street, Newark) on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:00pm during the first intermission of the NJ Devils vs. Florida Panthers hockey game. The PMP Orchestra and Band will perform their signature choreographed Twinkle Tango as well as Queen's We Will Rock You and Shaker based on the Shaker melody Simple Gifts. Tickets to the game start at $35 and can be purchased at www.patersonmusicproject.org.

Lucy Dhegrae, vocalist and founder of the acclaimed Resonant Bodies Festival, will open The Processing Series on November 23 at National Sawdust, with a program entitled More Beautiful Than Words Can Tell. The four-concert residency will explore the nature of trauma, and how music can help us to recover and process the aftermath of a traumatic experience. 

Bergen County Players Presents A COMEDY OF TENORS

Bergen County Players (BCP) continues its 87th season with A Comedy of Tenors, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Bill Kaufman. A Comedy of Tenors runs October 26th through November 16th, with curtain at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 pm on Sundays. All performances will take place at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown Welcomes the Cornell Jazz Ensembles

Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland is proud to present The Jazz Ensembles from Cornell University with a unique and exciting concert on Friday October 25 at 7:30 PM. Directed by Paul Merrill, the talented student musicians will present a concert entitled 'Mythology, Folklore, and Freedom: Train Imagery in Early Blues, Folk, Jazz and Pop.' With a central theme of songs about trains and a?oeriding the railsa??, the concert features music by Johnny Cash, Duke Ellington, Bob Marley, Arlo Guthrie, Thelonious Monk, Lead Belly, Elizabeth Cotton, Henry Thomas, Mary Lou Williams, and The O'Jays.  Special guest musician/singer Miché Fambro will also join the group, bringing his own unique sound to the concert.  Tickets for $10.00 for adults and seniors, and $8.00 for youth under 22.

Hear the music. Save the world. The non-profit humanitarian organization TEEEM.org presents Bergenfest, a benefit concert run by students that is full of music and fun for the family. TEEEM works with Bergen County high school students to provide medical care, economic empowerment, food and education to communities in in the developing world. Headlining the concert will be We McDonald of Paterson, NJ, who drew national attention on NBC's The Voice along with local bands playing throughout the day. Bergenfest will be held at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School, 335 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood NJ on Saturday June 29th, from 12-7pm. There will be food trucks, games, arts and crafts and face painting. It is a day of fun for the whole family. Tickets can be purchased online at http:teeem.org. Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for children under 6 and seniors, and $50 for a family of up to six. The Hanover Wind Symphony will perform a special concert entitled And the Trumpets Shall Sound at the Morris Museum on Sunday, February 10 at 2:00PM.  The concert will feature the Hanover Wind Symphony's trumpet section, and guest soloist, Michael R. Baker.  The concert is being held in conjunction with the museum's exhibition, Trumpets, Weird and Wonderful: Treasures from the National Music Museum, which is on view through Sunday, March 17, 2019.
