The Dallas Opera is extremely pleased to announce a significant expansion of our educational programs, beginning in the summer of 2011. These programs are designed to underscore TDO's renewed commitment to educational excellence in the arts, both inside and outside the traditional opera house.

The Museum is housed in a building owned by the City of New York and its operations are made possible in part by public funds provided through the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the New York State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Natural Heritage Trust (administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation). The Dallas Opera is proud to announce the eighteen artists from around the world who are vying for the prestigious "Maria Callas Debut Artist of the Year" Award to be announced at the annual Dallas Opera Board and Trustee Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, May 19th at 6:30 PM in the Crescent Ballroom of the Rosewood Crescent Hotel, 400 Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas.

MIAMI CITY BALLET continues its 25th Anniversary Season in South Florida with Program III and the Company Premiere of Paul Taylor's powerful Promethean Fire. Program III also features these audience favorites: George Balanchine's enthralling Scotch Symphony and Twyla Tharp's popular Nine Sinatra Songs. The Opus One Orchestra will play, under the baton of maestro Gary Sheldon, 42 to 56 musicians strong, supported by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, as part of its Knight Arts Challenge.

Miami City Ballet's internationally and critically acclaimed company of 50 dancers will be joined by Miami City Ballet School students to present the second Ballet for Young People program at the Adrienne Arsht Center Ziff Ballet Opera House on Saturday, February 12, 2011, 2pm-3pm. The school students open the program with Harlequin and Columbine, based on George Balanchine's Harlequinade, followed by the company dancers in Balanchine's Scotch Symphony.
