For Kenny Chesney, the Songs for the Saints 2019 Tour is about going to the people, leaning in and creating music in a more intimate realm than his massive 1.3 million, 19-stadium summer tours contain. With a focus on arenas half the size he normally plays, it offers the songwriter from East Tennessee the opportunity to introduce an emerging country artist whose done it outside the lines to No Shoes Nation.

On November 1st, The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, headquartered in Auburn, N.Y., will begin accepting submissions for new musicals in all stages of development to be considered for the 2019 season of The PiTCH. The PiTCH is a new works series offering residency and retreat for creative teams, and the opportunity to develop and "pitch" their new musical to engaged and enthusiastic audiences. Teams benefit from dialogue and feedback immediately following their "pitch." Submission deadline is Nov. 30, 2018.

More artists have been announced to perform at the Chillin' on the Lucie music festival in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Oct. 3 - 7. Uncle Kracker has joined the roster, as well as Cassadee Pope, Parmalee, Josh Gracin, Clare Dunn, Kalie Shorr, Hudson Moore and Lewis Brice. Headlining will be country icon, Wynonna, with her band The Big Noise, and hit-maker Joe Nichols, with two more to be announced. CBS Radio has announced a four-day Detroit BMI Singer Songwriter Series that will span across several city venues Wednesday, October 19 through Saturday, October 22. The series, sponsored by Olympia Entertainment, Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, Detroit Institute of Music Education, HD Radio and BMI, will feature intimate acoustic performances by artists who penned some of music's favorite songs to include Hunter Hayes, LoCash, Brett Young, Uncle Kracker, Jacob Whitesides, Tinashe and more. The festivities will culminate with a main event at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, October 22, paying tribute to Motown's first artist to record a hit for the record company and storied songwriter, Barrett Strong.

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) will develop Music City, USA, a new musical with music and lyrics by JT Harding and book by Peter Zinn. Featuring actors Alex Ross, Kelsey Lake, Braden Socia, Will Adams, Brandon Murphy, Kelsey Milbourn, Cara Serber, Jacob Nice, and Greg Dulcie, Music City, USA will have two performances, on Sunday, August 21 at 2pm and Monday, August 22 at 7pm, in the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions. Mary Catherine Burke will direct and Jacob Nice will music direct.
