Universal Kids – the TV network that celebrates kids' everyday adventures – will premiere the new original series “Where's Waldo?” from DreamWorks Animation this July.

Today, RTX Animation Festival, Rooster Teeth's celebration of the best of internet animation, announced its first wave of panelists including Tigtone co-creators Benjamin Martian and Andrew Koehler, animation industry leader Ian Jones-Quartey, Dragon Ball Super and gen:LOCK voice actress Monica Rial and more. The RTX Animation Festival will take place July 5-7 at the Fairmont Austin.

BroadwayWorld has learned that SpongeBob the Musical has announced a non-equity casting call for the upcoming tour of the Broadway musical.

 Nickelodeon is commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants with the “Best Year Ever”—a tribute to one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. SpongeBob launched July 17, 1999, and has reigned as the number-one kids' animated series on TV for the last 17 years, generating a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony award-winning Broadway musical and a global fan base.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” (edited by John Ottman, ACE) and “The Favourite” (edited by Yorgos Mavropsaridis, ACE) won Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) and Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy) respectively at the 69th Annual ACE Eddie Awards tonight where trophies were handed out recognizing the best editing of 2018 in 11 categories of film, television and documentaries.  The black-tie ceremony was held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel with over 1000 in attendance to celebrate.  President of American Cinema Editors, Stephen Rivkin, ACE, presided over the evening's festivities with comedian Tom Kenny serving as the evening's host.

The sci-fi and action anime film The Laws of the Universe-Part I, a sequel of The Laws of the Universe-Part 0, took the number one spot at the box office this weekend in Japan. (Oct 13-14, source: Kogyo Tsushinsha ) The October 12th premiere was simultaneous in the US and Japan. Earlier this month in Los Angeles, the film also won the Special Jury Animation Award at the Awareness Film Festival 2018.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, the critically acclaimed, award-winning new musical will conclude its Broadway engagement at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at West 47th Street) on Sunday, September 16, 2018, due to previously planned theatre renovations beginning mid-September. Early in 2019, school and youth group licensing rights will be available, with professional licensing to follow. Additionally, a North American tour will begin fall 2019 (cities, venue engagements and casting to be announced at a later date). The production, which began previews on November 6, 2017, and opened on December 4, 2017, will have played 327 regular performances and 29 previews.

Nickelodeon is bringing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, INVADER ZIM and more to life at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2018 through one-of-a-kind virtual and real-world experiences that will have fans saying, 'Cowabunga'! Headquartered at its 1,800 square-foot booth (#4113) on the convention floor, Nickelodeon will showcase: Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the all-new, reimagined series that follows the band of brothers as they seek to unlock the mystical secrets of New York City; the upcoming INVADER ZIM original TV movie; the return of Double Dare, a reboot of the iconic game show; the hit animated series The Loud House, which follows 11-year-old Lincoln Loud's life with his 10 sisters; and Reptar from Rugrats, who will tower over Nick's space.
