The countdown to the Players' 2022 Summer Season is on, and excitement is in the air! A lineup of attention, transformation, beauty, and joy, the season of shows sizzles with newness, as well as the long-awaited return of Players’ favorite creatives and traditions.

Live, professional theatre bursts from inside the Players beloved barn stage with the 2022 Summer Season! An exciting lineup of shows full of attention, transformation, beauty, and joy. The season is the perfect combination of a return of some long-missed Players' traditions, coupled with the continued excitement of newness, change, and exploration. All with the utmost focus on the ongoing comfort and safety of all at the Players.

The Peterborough Players will round out its three-show Grand Restart with the U.S. Premiere of Where You Are, a new play written by Canadian playwright Kristen Da Silva. Directed by Tom Frey and performed on the new outdoor Elsewhere Stage at the Players, the “dramedy” will run from September 1-12 at 4:30pm.

The Players invites anyone who needs assistance accessing tickets to attend, with a guest, for whatever they feel they can pay. Tickets must be reserved ahead of time through the box office. Learn more about the production and how to purchase tickets here!

The Peterborough Players has shared the lineup for their Summer 2021 Grand Restart. The season consists of three shows presented in bold, fresh, and safe ways: a perennial classic with an intimate connection to the Players, a high-energy musical with heart and relevance, and a U.S. Premiere play. 

Peterborough Players is honored to welcome author Howard Sherman as guest expert at the next Playgroup, taking place online on March 26th and April 2nd at 7:30 pm. 

Costume, light, sound, and set design are a massive part of theatrical storytelling. From sweeping to subtle, the vision of designers creates the world of the play. 

If you've yet to experience Playgroup, now is your chance! Peterborough Players is bringing back the popular online workshop series this February, March, and April. The new series, which begins with popular company member Bridget Beirne presenting on Musical Theatre on February 12th  and 19th at 7:30pm, gives patrons and artists alike the opportunity to learn and discuss the elements that comprise the theatre they love.

Peterborough Players wraps up its first season of new, popular interactive theatrical workshops, Playgroup, online on December 4th and 11th at 7:30pm EST.

Peterborough Players pulls back the curtain on Shakespeare in the next offering of their interactive theatrical workshop series, Playgroup. The two-session workshop will occur online on November 13th and 20th at 7:30pm EST.

While onstage offerings are on hiatus, the Peterborough Players has been keeping connected with their treasured patrons and community through entertaining, engaging, and original digital programming under their Players Online umbrella.

The comedy 2 Pianos 4 Hands has been added to the current Olney Theatre Center schedule as a special event for a limited run on the Historic Stage, May 8 - 24, 2020. Written and originally performed by Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt; Jefferson McDonald and Matt McGloin take the stage for this production to portray Ted and Richard from their very first piano lessons as they strive to become professional concert pianists. Directed by Tom Frey, each actor plays a piano in this comic look at what happens when we chase our dreams and come up short. Tickets are on sale today via olneytheatre.org and the box office (301-924-3400).

The Peterborough Players rings in the New Year - and new decade! - with an audience favorite, Always...Patsy Cline, created and originally directed by Ted Swindley, from January 16th-26th. This rousing musical, featuring classic Patsy Cline hits, has not been seen on the Players' stage since 2003. The Players has a long history with the music of the country legend, having produced a separate look at Patsy Cline's life in a different show, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, in 2014.

Due to popular demand, 2 PIANOS, 4 HANDS, staged in the round at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, has been extended to Jan. 12, 2020. Tickets to the added performances are on sale now. The additional shows are Friday, Jan. 10, 8 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 11, 4 and 8 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m. More shows could be added as needed.

Peterborough Players raise the curtain on their 2019/2020 Winter Season with A Tuna Christmas, a boisterous comedy by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard, running from December 5th-15th. As part of the season, the Players announce Players Gives, a program to reach ever deeper into the community.

The Peterborough Players celebrates the return of their on-stage Winter Season with three selections sure to delight audiences during this cold time of year. A boisterous comedy, a return of a country music legend, and an encounter with one of America's most revered poets come to life in A Tuna Christmas, Alwaysa??Patsy Cline, and This Verse Business December 2019 a?" February 2020.

Two pianists' quest for larger-than-life dreams takes the stage in 2 PIANOS, 4 HANDS, beginning on Nov. 9 in the Rosenthal Shelterhouse Theatre. Audiences are invited to experience the side-splitting musical comedy through Jan. 5, with opening night on Nov. 14.

"She loves me/And to my amazement/I love it knowing that she loves me/She loves me/True, she doesn't show it/How could she when she doesn't know it?" If those well-known lyrics strike up a tune in your head, then you're no doubt familiar with She Loves Me, this season's big, Broadway-style musical on stage at the Peterborough Players from July 31st- August 11th.

Before Paul Osborn wrote the screenplay for Rodgers and Hammerstein's box office hit South Pacific, he wrote a hysterical, semi-autobiographical Broadway comedy that captures Midwestern eccentricity to hilarious effect. Winner of 4 Tony Awards, Morning's at Seven is a funny and deeply poignant look at the foibles of a close-knit Midwestern family in the 1930s. It opens at the Peterborough Players on July 17th. ?

Sail off on a fantastic musical excursion when a band of comical pirates lands at North Beach looking for an expert digger to join their crew in How I Became a Pirate, based on the children's book by Melinda Long. The Second Company at the Peterborough Players performs this singing, dancing, swashbuckling musical starting on June 22nd, and running until July 20th.
