 Geffen Playhouse has announced six productions that will make up the 2024/2025 season lineup, marking the inaugural season from Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Tarell Alvin McCraney.

To spotlight women in leadership, the Broadway Women’s Fund has announced the fifth annual Women to Watch on Broadway, which highlights women in the industry who excel in their careers in regional theaters, Off-Broadway, as Broadway Associates, and in Broadway offices.

Hosted by Award-winning actor and producer Tracee Ellis Ross at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park, the star-studded evening featured electric performances and inspiring speeches from some of the top women dominating the music industry, including Charli XCX, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Tinashe, and more. The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition 20th competition winner FURLOUGH’S PARADISE written by a.k. payne and directed by Tinashe Kajese-Bolden has its world premiere on the Hertz Stage at Alliance Theatre Jan 31 – Mar 3, 2024.

The project also includes focus single “mr. useless (ft. SG Lewis),” a mesmerizing dance track that Danny Howard will support as his Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 tonight. Produced alongside Kingdom, Boys Noize, Karma Kid, Sega Bodega, and the aforementioned SG Lewis, Club Shy sees a new side to Shygirl.

Get a first look at Alliance Theatre's FURLOUGH’S PARADISE, which follows Cousins Sade and Mina, raised like sisters but now leading very different lives, as they return to their childhood town for a funeral.

This work would earn new fans globally as the RENAISSANCE movement toured the world. It would earn him two Grammy-nominations at the 2023 Grammy Awards. UNIIQU3 shares her latest single “Price Going Up,” a collaboration with DJ duo Black Caviar. Bombastic and dynamic, “Price Going Up” is an energetic dance-pop track laced with influences of hip-hop and EDM. “Price Going Up” is the first single off of UNIIQU3's upcoming EP with Black Caviar, Ramen Noodles (dropping March 2024). 

Filled with kaleidoscopic visuals, the music video highlights her deep-rooted affinity for club and electronic music as viewers follow Shygirl into her imagined club scene. 'thicc' sees Shygirl's vocals weave in and out of the song against the pulsating beat, hypnotizing and inviting the listener to let go of their inhibitions.

The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition will continue to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists.
