Alam will play Mathlete Kevin G., who befriends Cady (Angourie Rice) while having a crush on her friend Janis (Auli’i Cravalho). Jenna Fischer has joined the cast of the Mean Girls movie musical. Fischer will play Ms. Heron, Cady Heron's mom. She joins the previously announced Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Angourie Rice, Auli'i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Christopher Briney, and Reneé Rapp reprising her Broadway role as Regina George.

Amanda Seyfried has revealed that she and the four stars of the original Mean Girls movie, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and Lacey Chabert, are 'dead set' on appearing in the sequel. Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the 2004 movie, also offered her idea on how they could possibly appear in the film.
