The 2023 Lower East Side Film Festival (“LESFF”) will host a special 30th-anniversary screening of Richard Linklater's, 1993 cult classic, “Dazed and Confused” with live commentary from comedians, Jordan Carlos (The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore) and Phoebe Robinson (HBO's 2 Dope Queens, Everything's Trash) on Friday, May 5 at the Village East Cinema with a 9 pm showtime in Mystery Science Theater 3000 style.

The Hollywood Critics Association have announced the complete list of winners for their Inaugural HCA Creative Arts Awards and the 6th Annual HCA Film Awards. A24's EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, which had the most nominations in the organization's history, took home seven awards (Best Editing, Best Cast Ensemble, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, and Best Picture) while Variance Films' global sensation RRR won a total of four awards (Best Original Song, Best Stunts, Best Action Film, and Best International Film). Taylor Swift won Best Short Film for ALL TOO WELL.

Gilda's LaughFest, celebrating 13 years of laughter, announced registration is now open for the Seriously Funny Adventure Challenge. This year's event expands into larger areas of Grand Rapids, including downtown, and into all three of the city's wards.

Acclaimed storytelling nonprofit The Moth has announced details for their annual fundraising gala, Full Bloom: The 2023 Moth Ball. Taking place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on Tuesday, May 23rd, this year's gathering will honor award-winning comedian and longtime Moth friend and storyteller, Hasan Minhaj. There are numerous ways volunteers can help leading up to and during the festival. There is no minimum requirement in terms of amount of time or number of events needed to volunteer.
