Art, love, and loss collide for a charismatic group of struggling young artists trying to make it in the city as Puccini's La Bohème returns to the Canadian Opera Company from October 6 to 28, 2023. 

The COC Ensemble Studio welcomes four rising artists starting in the company's 2023/2024 season: soprano Karoline Podolak, tenor Wesley Harrison, baritone Korin Thomas-Smith, and pianist Mattia Senesi. The four officially join the highly specialized development program for Canadian opera professionals this August, alongside returning sopranos Ariane Cossette and Charlotte Siegel, mezzo-sopranos Alex Hetherington and Queen Hezumuryango, and pianist Brian Cho.

The 10th anniversary edition of the 21C Music Festival, which begins with the Kronos Quartet residency and a special appearance by Tanya Tagaq in December, and includes more than 18 premieres, continues with eight more concerts in January 2023.

The tenth edition of the 21C Music Festival will include 11 concerts and 1 film, and span over two months – starting in December 2022 and continuing into January 2023. The cornerstone of the Festival will be a spotlight on the Kronos Quartet, who will participate in three events, and feature a special performance by Tanya Tagaq.

Following live auditions across the country, seven of Canada's most promising new opera singers have been selected to compete in the Canadian Opera Company's Centre Stage: Ensemble Studio Competition on November 3, 2022 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. All proceeds from the evening support the COC's groundbreaking artist development program, the Ensemble Studio.

& Juliet will hold a special sing-along performance of the acclaimed show at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Monday 6 June 2022 at 19.30. Tickets will go on sale at 10.30 on Wednesday 27 April.

& Juliet has announced additional casting, including stage and screen veterans Keala Settle, Julius D'Silva, and Tom Francis. They will join the currently cast Olivier Award winners Miriam Teak-Lee and Cassidy Janson. Settle will play Nurse, Francis will play Romeo, and D'Silva will play the amorous Frechman, Lance. & Juliet is running at the Shaftesbury Theatre, where the show recently extended its booking period through until Saturday 24 September 2022.

Tom Francis is to play Romeo in & Juliet, as the award-winning show today announces new cast. Tom, who starred in the recent acclaimed production of Rent, will join the company next month, in the joyous musical which won 3 Olivier Awards and 6 Whatsonstage Awards.

The 21C Music Festival continues with the return of Canadian violinist Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà, the superb all-female string ensemble featuring some of Canada's best musicians, on February 25 with a program titled Elle – 25th Anniversary Concert.

The Ritz Theatre Company presents its first musical production of 2022, Falsettos, a hilarious and achingly poignant look at the infinite possibilities that make up a modern family, written by William Finn and James Lapine. The show runs at The Ritz from January 14th through January 30th.
