Before Hamilton, before In the Heights, there was Freestyle Love Supreme. Now — direct from Broadway — the original hip-hop musical phenomenon from Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Anthony Veneziale arrives in Seattle.         

Pasadena Playhouse has announced that tickets are now on sale for the West Coast premiere of Ann – written by and starring Holland Taylor and directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein from March 22 through April 24, and more.

The Sierra Stages 2022 Season opens with the provocative, funny and ultimately uplifting play Tiny Beautiful Things. It is set to play for four weekends from March 4 – 26 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. Tiny Beautiful Things is directed by Sands Hall and features Nevada County actors John Gardiner, Lois Masten, Tracie Nickle and Trevor Wade. Scenic design is by Pamela Hodges, lighting design is by Les Solomon, and costume design is by Paulette Sand-Gilbert.

Producer Jeffrey Seller, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and Broadway Across America announce a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (February 22) in Pittsburgh at the Benedum Center. 

The month of February has a variety of events to offer in venues across Seattle Center’s campus. Some events are presented in-person, while others feature a hybrid of in-person and virtual viewing options.

Hulu has greenlit Up Here, a new musical comedy series with original music by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Hamilton's Tony-winner Thomas Kail is slated to direct with Tony-winning Dear Evan Hansen writer Steven Levenson serving as show runner. The musical romantic comedy is set in New York City follows a couple falling in love in 1999.

The HAMILTON touring schedule has been adjusted to accommodate the rescheduling of performances that were cancelled in other cities due to COVID-19. As a result, the Kennedy Center engagement will play ten weeks instead of 12.

Mia Pinero will release her debut album, Growing Up, a 'musical journal entry' preserving a moment unlike any other. Not a fan of rap, improv or audience participation, three key ingredients of FLS, I have to say I was drawn in by the incredibly talented cast and the lightning speed at which they riff on random thoughts and observations. Combining sketch theater and 'freestyle rap, the 90-minute exercise in creativity included humor, social awareness, pathos and inspiration.

Award-winning actor/producer/improviser Wayne Brady will join applied improvisation training companies Freestyle Love Supreme Academy, LLC and Speechless Inc. as Chief Creative Officer in a merger set for early 2022.

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME ACADEMY, the first ever freestyle school created and run directly by FLS Members, has announced winter and spring virtual classes, offering “Foundations of Freestyle” and “Welcome to the Cypher.”
