Inspired by the award-winning movie, this romantic family-forward musical is filled with high-energy choreography and unforgettable songs like “Be the Hero,” “Fight the Dragons,” and “I Don't Need a Roof.”

With a book by John August and music by Andrew Lippa, the musical is based on the film and novel of the same name. The show is directed by Alex S. Freeman, with music direction by Jason Philip Solis, and choreography by Kelsey Jordan Ward. Thi Le serves as Assistant Director and Hannah Tolle is the Stage Manager.

After a highly successful performance run in 2019, Bright Star returns to The Firehouse Theatre this September as a concert production! Bright Star features over 20 beautiful songs and tells a beguiling tale that unfolds in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina between 1923 and 1945. Billy Cane, a young soldier just home from World War II, meets Alice Murphy, the brilliant editor of a southern literary journal.

For the first time in a year and a half, The Firehouse Theatre will bring live theatre back to their Mainstage with Matilda the Musical. Roald Dahl's beloved novel, produced as a film adaptation in 1996, is a bright new Tony-award winning Broadway musical! Matilda the Musical will run July 14-August 8 with performances Wednesdays-Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM.

The Firehouse Theatre has announced its 2021 Season. With plans to host performances at both indoor and outdoor venues in 2021, the theatre’s new season of musical productions includes Cotton Patch Gospel, Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, In the Heights and more.

After months of dedicated planning, The Firehouse Theatre is announcing its 2021 Season with a Dream Big 2021 Virtual Gala on Sunday, April 18 at 7:00 PM. The one-time stream event will unveil the six musicals coming to the new season as well as information about The Firehouse Theatre University – an expanded education initiative.

According to a note on The Firehouse Theatre’s website, dated November 20, 2020, Artistic and Education Director has formally resigned from his duties at the theatre. New leadership positions have not been announced.
