BWW Interview: Theatre Life with David Muse

Today's subject David Muse is currently living his theatre life as the Artistic Director of Studio Theatre. This season marks his ninth in the position. He became only the second Artistic Director in the company's history when founder Joy Zinoman stepped down in 2010.He is currently represented as a director at Studio Theatre with The Children which is now playing through June 9th in the Metheny Theatre space.

TampaRep Announces 9th Season

May 28, 2019 Tampa Repertory Theatre has announced the slate for its 9th full season, kicking off in September 2019. Performances will be held at the HCC-Ybor Studio Theatre or at Studio 120 on the University of South Florida campus. The first night of each production is a paid preview performance.

COME TOGETHER Opens FST's Summer Cabaret Series

Florida Studio Theatre kicks off its 6th Summer Cabaret Series with Come Together: When the 60s Met the 70s, a rockin' revue that explores the changing musical landscape from 1965-1975. QUEEN OF THE MIST Will Transfer to Charing Cross Theatre

Pint of Wine Theatre Company's acclaimed production of Michael John LaChiusa's Queen of the Mist is to transfer to Charing Cross Theatre for a strictly limited seven-week season from 15 August to 5 October 2019.

FEAST3 Comes to UNDER St. Marks Theater

NATHAN THE WISE is Now On Stage At The Stratford Festival

Nathan the Wise, the rarely seen masterpiece of the eighteenth-century German Enlightenment, hits the stage in Stratford this weekend. Directed by Birgit Schreyer Duarte, and starring Diane Flacks in the title role, the production begins previews on Saturday, May 25, at the Studio Theatre, followed by its official opening performance on June 15.

THROUGH THE BAMBOO Comes to Toronto Fringe

Inspired by Philippine mythology, Through the Bamboo is an action-packed adventure about the value of storytelling, and how families deal with loss. The world premiere of Through the Bamboo will take place at the Toronto Fringe July 3 - 14, 2019 at the Factory Theatre Mainspace.

Irish Rep Announces LITTLE GEM and LOVE, NOËL in Summer Season

Irish Repertory Theatre announces two new productions for summer 2019. On the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage will be Little Gem by Elaine Murphy (Shush) and directed by Marc Atkinson Borrull (Outlying Islands). Performances begin on July 17, 2019, with an opening night set for July 25, for a limited run through September 1, 2019.

City Theatre Hosts South Side Block Party THE BASH

City Theatre is excited to announce the details of The Bash, a benefit evening for the South Side theatre company, entering its 45th season. The Bash is taking over Bingham Street for a block party like no other. Pop-up performances, signature cocktails, food trucks, and an outdoor dance party will fill its multi-location cultural campus located between 13th and 14th Streets.

Eilin O'Dea Stars In MOLLY BLOOM BY JAMES JOYCE At Theater At 244 And Symphony Space

For Bloomsday 2019, Irish actress Eilin O'Dea will perform 'Molly Bloom by James Joyce,' the American premiere of her tour de force rendition of Joyce's best known and most complex female character.  Shows will be June 13-15 and 19-22 at The Theater at 244, 244 West 54th Street (10 fl.) and June 16 as part of 'Bloomsday on Broadway XXXVIII' at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre of Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.  The performance, lifted verbatim from the Penelope episode of 'Ulysses,' has brought O'Dea critical acclaim in Ireland and Europe for her no-holds-barred, candid look into Molly Bloom's whirling mind.

Weston Playhouse Receives NEA Grant

National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $10,000 to WESTON PLAYHOUSE THEATRE COMPANY for its new works program, which includes the Weston-Ghostlight New Musical Award and the Fall New Works Festival. Art Works is the Arts Endowment's principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking and will award 977 grants in this category.

Studio Theatre has extended the DC premiere of playwright Lucy Kirkwood's urgent and unsettling disaster drama The Children, directed by Studio Artistic Director David Muse. The production will now run through June 9, 2019.

SHI SHI KEN: THE PATH OF SOUL TRANSCENDENCE Comes to HFF

SHI SHI - KEN: The Path of Soul Transcendence is a one-man show about the Samurai Spirit. Kaz Kobayashi brings to the stage during the Hollywood Fringe Festival a one man's journey on becoming a real samurai using a Japnese sword fight choreography, stage combat, contemporary dance, acting, multimedia and original music. Samurai existential philosophy is the underlying theme of Kaz's first ever performance outside of Japan. SHI SHI - KEN: The Path of Soul Transcendence opens Friday, June 21th @ 10pm at Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre at Hollywood Fringe Festival.
