THE WHITE DRESS to Begin Previews July 5 at Access Theater

THE WHITE DRESS, written by Roger Q. Mason and directed and choreographed by Adin Walker will have a limited engagement Summer run, July 5-20 at the Access Theater, 380 Broadway. Based on the playwright's true-life experience, this is a genderqueer coming-of-age tale for the they/them generation.

The Rep Raises $1 Million for the Steve Woolf Studio Series

Steve Woolf's legacy at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will live on, thanks to a successful $1 million endowment campaign. The funds will support programming in The Rep's Emerson Studio Theatre, ensuring that the theatre will continue to produce cutting-edge work in its intimate, black box-style space. The Studio season will go by a new name: the Steve Woolf Studio Series.

A4 Launches Theater Career Roundtable Event 6/25

The Asian American Arts Alliance announces the launch of a new initiative to support Asian Americans pursuing careers in the arts. Table Dish, A4's new professional development series, will bring experts in specific disciplines together with aspiring professionals in a roundtable setting to answer questions, provide advice, and create networking and mentoring opportunities.

Fresh Ink Theatre Presents 2019/2020 Season Programming

Fresh Ink is pleased to announce six new plays as part of the 2019/2020 season! For our ninth year of developing and producing local new work, Fresh Ink will feature two plays as part of our full development cycle, with each script receiving a reading and workshop before a word premiere production in winter/spring 2020. In addition, we will showcase the work of four additional playwrights as part of our fall Ink Spot Festival, which we continue to expand as a platform for additional script development and a celebration of some of Boston's most exciting local writers.

BWW Review: Dramatic Repertory Company Mounts Maine Premiere of THE FLICK

Portland's Dramatic Repertory Company chose the intimate black box environment of Portland Stage's Studio Theatre to present the Maine premiere of Annie Baker's Pulitzer Prize winning play, THE FLICK, in a production that is filled with dark humor, poignant moments, and almost excruciating intensity. THE FLICK, clocking in at three hours, ten minutes, is a work that requires patience and commitment to mine its many riveting theatrical moments, but if the audience invests itself in the conceit of real time and unvarnished dialogue, there are many rewards.

Studio Theatre Announces 2019-2020 Season Main Series Directors And Studio X Programming

Studio Theatre rounds out its 2019-2020 season with the announcement of its Studio X productions-characteristically edgier, immersive offerings which include cult-favorite monologist Daniel Kitson with his latest project, Keep., and the Studio-commissioned world premiere of Abe Koogler's Aspen Ideas. Created with the support of Studio R&D, the theatre's incubator for new plays, Aspen Ideas probes the nature of ideas conceived by the wealthy and elite to solve the world's ills. Kitson famously made his DC debut at Studio Theatre in 2017, his first time outside of New York and a rare US engagement. He returns with a meditation on accumulation, material possessions, and the value we assign to them.

McCarter Announces Roster For 2019 Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat

McCarter will welcome a group of esteemed and emerging playwrights and theater artists to Princeton for the Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat. The annual retreat in June is a centerpiece of McCarter's LAB, a platform and creative incubator devoted to ongoing theatrical development and artist cultivation. The 2019 Retreat will take place from June 12 - June 19.

People's Light Presents Dominique Morisseau's MUD ROW

People's Light presents Mud Row, a world premiere play by recent Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau (Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations). Two generations of sisters navigate class, race, love, and family on "Mud Row," an area in the East End of West Chester, Pennsylvania.

AN AMERICAN VIDEO STORE Comes to Hollywood Fringe

An American Video Store is a funny, emotional, and nostalgic trip down memory lane. The story takes place over 3 pivotal moments in the history of the American video store. While telling an intimate tale of clerks and customers, the play also examines the rise and fall of what was a cultural phenomenon that defined a generation. Mercedes Ruehl And Cast Of SAFE SPACE Now In Rehearsal For Run At Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the cast of SAFE SPACE (June 25 - July 21) is now in rehearsal.The new play is by Alan Fox; directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Henry IV, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia). The play will star Mercedes Ruehl (Torch Song, Hustlers, Bay Street's Viva la Vida!), Sasha Diamond (Blindspot, The Romanoffs, Murphy Brown) and Rodney Richardson (The Day Shall Come, CBS's FBI, Somebody's Daughter). FST Opens 4th Week Of Performances Of THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES

Florida Studio Theatre kicks off its 29th Summer Mainstage Season with The Marvelous Wonderettes by Roger Bean, an Off-Broadway hit that takes audiences on a fun-filled trip down memory lane. This upbeat musical opens on Springfield High's prom in 1958, which has unexpectedly lost its musical act. To save the night, four female friends-Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy-take the stage to entertain their classmates in four-part harmony. The Marvelous Wonderettes starts May 29 in FST's Gompertz Theatre.

FST Improv Continues The Fireworks This Independence Day Weekend

Florida Studio Theatre's home Improv team presents When X Meets Y: American Revolution, a special holiday improv show celebrating Independence Day. Inspired by audience suggestions and three random notes on the keyboard, members of FST Improv will weave a story of love and laughter that unfolds during the American Revolution. When X Meets Y: American Revolution will play in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre at 7:30PM on Saturday, July 6. Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased by calling FST's Box Office at (941) 366-9000, or at FloridaStudioTheatre.org. Full menu and bar are available. Doors open one hour prior to the show.
