Rising blues artist Diana Rein performs at the Sedona Red Rockin' Blues 2 Festival, Posse Grounds Park & Recreation Area, 525 Posse Ground Rd., Saturday, September 7. Set Time: 2:30pm. Free.  Presented by the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance.

  Rein celebrated the release of her new album Queen Of My Castle (Gulf Coast Records) with a CD Release Concert at The Merc in historic Temecula, CA two weeks ago. 'From the soulful, toe-tapping 'Yes I Sing The Blues' to the hard-rocking, 'Heat,' Rein showed a versatile voice and sharper-than-sharp songwriting skills with some meaty guitar licks thrown in for good measure,' Writes the Valley News in their review, which can be read in its entirety, here.  This past July Rein performed in front of thousands of music lovers at the Open Air Blues Festival in Romania, where she was born. 

September brings some of music's most iconic female performers including Motown stars Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Lady of Soul Oleta Adams and '80s icon Jody Watley. Local artists include the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, Henry Kapono presenting his Artist 2 Artist Concert Series featuring Blayne Asing, Elijah Sky and Mike Lewis's 2nd Annual Tribute to the Great City of New York. The Blue Note Comedy Series continues with comedian Esther Ku and '90s Alternative super group 10,000 Maniacs makes their Blue Note debut. We're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe and Yvette Moore presents a tribute to Gloria Estefan. Stef Mariani's invites you to her album release celebration of 'Highway of Love' and local favorites Good Foot Hawaii! take the stage. The Hawaii News Now Jazz Legends Series continues with Keiko Matsui and Lightnin' Larry Dupio presents an eclectic night of traditional and original Big Island blues. Willie K returns, electric blues guitar powerhouse Robben Ford takes the stage and the month rounds out with singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin.

Davina and the Vagabonds release SUGAR DROPS, the first album from label, Red House Records. SUGAR DROPS marks the first time singer/songwriter/pianist Davina Sowers entered a proper studio to record an album. The Minneapolis-based artist holed up in Nashville's Compass Sound Studio with producer (and Compass Records co-founder) Garry West, along with her trumpeter, string arranger and husband, Zack Lozier, and a rotating cast of powerhouse players including Todd Phillips (David Grisman, Robbie Fulks) on bass, Doug Lancio (Patty Griffin, John Hiatt, Tom Jones) on guitar and Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa) on Hammond B3.

Davina and the Vagabonds have announced a brand new release date for their album SUGAR DROPS, the first album from the label Red House Records out August 2nd.  Songwriter James Steinle's music is often filled with characters who live near borders and on open plains, who work cattle on hot days and visit honky tonks at night, who experience hardships and cause of a bit of a ruckus from time to time. His songs are filled with perspective -- sometimes his own, sometimes that of others -- that shine a light on what life looks like for people in a place that's often forgotten. The latest collection to showcase these stories is Live At Hole In The Wall, set to be released on July 26.

Today, Montreal native singer-songwriter Jesse Mac Cormack released his mesmerizing new album, Now, via Secret City Records. With the release, Jesse also shared the polychromatic music video for his fervent new song “Stay.”

Blues-rock superstar, Joe Bonamassa, will be returning to Australia in September for four shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for his first headlining tour since 2016.

The concert will honor multi-GRAMMY® winner Macklemore and will be hosted by Joel McHale. Lead singer for the world famous acapella group Klapa Cambi, Vlad Garic is about to make his American (and New York City) debut on Friday night March 15th in Queens at The Secret Theater. BWW caught up with Vlad during his rehearsal and got him to take a break from his preparations to chat with us. Vlad possesses one of the most naturally beautiful tenor voices in the world and his range is seemingly endless. One moment he is delivering stunning 10-part harmony klapa, the next moment he is tossing out a traditional Neapolitan song, next its a Verdi aria, finally cranking out some smoking hot Pearl Jam, that would make Eddy Vedder proud.

MusiCares®, an affiliated charity of the Recording Academy, announced today that the 2019 MusiCares Concert For Recovery will honor multi-GRAMMY® winnerMacklemore on Thursday, May 16 at The Novo at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Macklemore will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his significant dedication to and support of MusiCares and his commitment to helping others in the addiction recovery process. The Concert For Recovery will feature Joel McHale as the host. The evening will also present a tribute to Mac Miller, and will close with a special performance by Macklemore.Additional performers will be announced shortly.
