Jason Alexander directs L.A. premiere of Steven Levenson’s funny, powerful ‘If I Forget’ at Fountain Theatre

Second Stage Theater has announced that Laura DiLorenzo, who was serving as the organization’s Director of Marketing & Communications, has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer.

Next up at the Fountain Theatre, the L.A. premiere of Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson’s If I Forget beginning July 23, 2022 (with previews starting July 20th). Jason Alexander (also a Tony Award-winner) directs the cast of Síle Bermingham, Caribay Franke, Matt Gottlieb, Samantha Klein, Leo Marks, Valerie Perri, Jerry Weil and Jacob Zelonky. I had the opportune occasion to throw out a few queries to Jason, the well-known TV actor and respected L.A. Theatre community denizen.

With its award-winning book by Steven Levenson and score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the touring version of DEAR EVAN HANSEN offers the same gut punches along with assurances that life for the Hansens, the Murphys and the millions of nameless, faceless lonely souls out there on the internet may yet be OK.

Katie Finneran, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Andréa Burns and more have joined the cast of Hulu's upcoming musical series, Up Here. John Hodgman, Sophia Hammons, Emilia Suárez, George Hampe, Julia McDermott, Scott Porter, and Ayumi Patterson will also join the previously announced Carlos Valdes (Miguel) and Mae Whitman (Lindsay). 

Individual tickets for the Detroit premiere of DEAR EVAN HANSEN will go on sale on July 8 at 10:00 a.m. A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in.

Popejoy Hall will present two musicals still running on Broadway as well as a couple of well-known stars as part of its 2022-2023 season. The season includes 21 shows overall with a total of 50 performances from October 6, 2022 through June 11, 2023.

As part of the 21-22 Broadway series, the show plays the Forrest Theatre from Tuesday, August 16 – Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Carlos Valdes has joined the cast of Hulu's new musical rom-com series Up Here. Up Here is a new musical comedy series with original music by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Tony-winner Thomas Kail is slated to direct with Tony-winner Steven Levenson serving as show runner.

The Green Room 42 has announced their June line-up for in-person performances. Located inside YOTEL Times Square (570 Tenth Avenue, Fourth Floor), The Green Room 42 is Broadway's newest and most spacious cabaret club.

The critically acclaimed, Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical Dear Evan Hansen will celebrate its final London performance at the Noël Coward Theatre on 22 October 2022, three years after its West End premiere on 29 October 2019 and a year after its return to the West End after the covid shutdown (26 October 2021).
