City Lit Theater announced its lineup for the 2022-23 season. The season will begin in October with the world premiere of THE MARK OF KANE, by Mark Pracht, and conclude in late spring with the world premiere of Kingsley Day and Philip LaZebnik’s musical AZTEC HUMAN SACRIFICE.

Bergen Performing Arts Center has announced the addition of four new members to its Board of Trustees. Ray Chew, Vivian Scott Chew, Steven Goldstein, and Valerie Vainieri Huttle joined the board of bergenPAC at a critical time as the storied theater's $15 million Invest in the Arts Capital Campaign funds a comprehensive restoration and renovation of the historic venue.

Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City has announced the creation of The Victor Wong Fellowship, a program to train and mentor up-and-coming comedians. Named after The Second City's first Asian American performer and funded by Peng Zhao, CEO of Citadel Securities, and his wife, Cherry Chen, the fellowship will focus on developing the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) talent.

She will be returning to DPAC on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

The Second City Film School, the legendary launching pad for the biggest names in improv and comedy, today announced a partnership with the Catalyst Story Institute, a nonprofit that helps creators of every age and background find traditional and nontraditional outlets for the content they develop. 

Powerful as that theme may be, DOGFIGHT as written isn't fully the righteous proposition it hopes to be. At its core are some deeply troublesome male figures who engage in truly horrendous behavior, and while theatre is always welcome to put unseemly or complicated characters on the stage, DOGFIGHT never entirely deals with their deeds, which include among other things attempted rape. Playwright Peter Duchan clearly understands his character to be problematic, but their brisk redemption by way of jaunty music and degrees of forgiveness from the women on stage can at times feel like unearned absolution...

American Buffalo officially begins performances tonight, March 22, at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Opening night is set for April 14. Learn more about the cast bringing this show back to Broadway!

Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City is proud to announce the cast and crew of The Second City’s 110th Mainstage Revue. Resident stage and Second City Touring Company director Jen Ellison (Apes of Wrath) will make her Mainstage directorial debut with an ensemble that includes Together at Last returning members Evan Mills and Musical Director Jeff Bouthiette.

That is why the McAninch Arts Center believes there is no better way of celebrating Valentine's Day than with “The Best of Second City” Saturday, Feb. 12, at 5 and 8 p.m. Special Valentine's-themed drink specials will be available.

Critically-acclaimed actor Jeremy Irons will discuss his new film, Munich: The Edge of War, as well as his career, in a Monday, January 17 interview with 92Y Reel Pieces moderator Annette Insdorf. The interview, which is free with registration, will be broadcast live on 92Y's website at 5 pm ET.
