With the return of Just For Laughs Sydney Comedy Festival more laughs are on their way with Three Big Announcements being made.

Beloved 'Saturday Night Live' personality - and the longest serving 'anchor' on the show's wildly popular 'Weekend Update' - Seth Meyers takes over as host of NBC's 'Late Night,' home to A-list celebrity guests, memorable comedy and the best in musical talent.

This summer, from the biggest global animated franchise in history, comes the origin story of how the world’s greatest supervillain first met his iconic Minions, forged cinema’s most despicable crew and faced off against the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled in Minions: The Rise of Gru.

 The Second City has announced that, for the first time in the iconic comedy company’s 62-year history, an Artistic Advisory Board has been formed to help promote and secure the organization’s success for the next 62 years and beyond.

Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City has announced the creation of The Victor Wong Fellowship, a program to train and mentor up-and-coming comedians. Named after The Second City's first Asian American performer and funded by Peng Zhao, CEO of Citadel Securities, and his wife, Cherry Chen, the fellowship will focus on developing the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) talent.

Wanda Sykes is an Emmy winning stand up comic, writer, actress and producer who has been entertaining audiences for over twenty years. She has ranked among Entertainment Weekly's “25 Funniest People in America” and her peers have called her “one of the funniest stand-up comics” in the field. She will be returning to DPAC on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

The Second City Film School, the legendary launching pad for the biggest names in improv and comedy, today announced a partnership with the Catalyst Story Institute, a nonprofit that helps creators of every age and background find traditional and nontraditional outlets for the content they develop. 

Featuring more spectacular action than any film in Illumination history and packed with the franchise’s signature subversive humor, Minions: The Rise of Gru stars a thrilling new cast, including Taraji P. Henson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, and Danny Trejo. The film also features a soundtrack by Jack Antonoff.

American Buffalo officially begins performances tonight, March 22, at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Opening night is set for April 14. Learn more about the cast bringing this show back to Broadway!

Powerful as that theme may be, DOGFIGHT as written isn't fully the righteous proposition it hopes to be. At its core are some deeply troublesome male figures who engage in truly horrendous behavior, and while theatre is always welcome to put unseemly or complicated characters on the stage, DOGFIGHT never entirely deals with their deeds, which include among other things attempted rape. Playwright Peter Duchan clearly understands his character to be problematic, but their brisk redemption by way of jaunty music and degrees of forgiveness from the women on stage can at times feel like unearned absolution...

Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City is proud to announce the cast and crew of The Second City’s 110th Mainstage Revue. Resident stage and Second City Touring Company director Jen Ellison (Apes of Wrath) will make her Mainstage directorial debut with an ensemble that includes Together at Last returning members Evan Mills and Musical Director Jeff Bouthiette.

Grier will join the previously announced Steve Carell, Domhall Gleeson, Linda Emond, Laura Niemi and Andrew Leeds in the cast of the eight-episode half-hour series. Details of Grier's role are currently being kept under wraps. The Patient was co-written by Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg.
