Rosie O'Donnell is a lifelong fan and former star of Broadway, and she's welcomed many of stars of the stage, past and present, on 'Rosie Radio', her daily SIRIUS XM show, for interviews and special performances. On this Tony Awards special Rosie shares her thoughts on this season's nominated shows and actors and plays some of her favorite Broadway moments from her radio show, including: a brand-new interview with Carrie Fisher, star of 'Wishful Drinking', and interviews with Kevin Chamberlain, Tony-nominee for 'The Addams Family' and Valerie Harper, Tony-nominee for 'Looped.' The cast of the hit Broadway musical AMERICAN IDIOT performed '21 Guns' live this morning, June 10th, in the 8am (EST) hour, on CBS's 'The Early Show,' which airs weekdays from 7-9am. The appearance featured Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr., Tony Award Nominee Stark Sands, Michael Esper, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Christina Sajous, and Mary Faber as well as Declan Bennett, Andrew Call, Gerard Canonico, Miguel Cervantes, Brian Charles Johnson, Leslie McDonel, Chase Peacock, Theo Stockman, Ben Thompson, Alysha Umphress, Sean Wing and Libby Winters.

Green Day 'Rock Band' Edition Now Available

The video game 'Green Day: Rock Band,' which is the latest installment in the popular Rock Band series, was released today, the official Rock Band website announced. The game's producers include Harmonix, MTV Games, Reprise/Warners Bros. Records. Green Day's music is currently featured on Broadway in AMERICAN IDIOT.

Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony last night, May 2, at Terminal 5. Hosted by the Off-Broadway League, the live show was co-hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth and featured performances by Alan Menken, STOMP, Seth Rudetsky, Edward Watts of The Fanasticks and LaChanze. BroadwayWorld was backstage at the ceremony to capture the evening's award-winners and ceremony participants!

Yesterday, April 27, cast members from AMERICAN IDIOT helped unveil the IDIOT-themed windows at Bloomingdale's on 59th Street. The Nudie denim line sold at the superstore is partnering with the production. The window displays honor the cast and celebrate the show's recent opening on April 20, 2010. Last week on April 20, 2010, Actor's Equity's David Westphal hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of AMERICAN IDIOT at the St. James Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES chorus member Dale Hensley turned over the robe to AMERICAN IDIOT cast member Andrew Call. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

For the next week, each day, hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa will feature the seasons most exciting shows, with the hosts themselves taking part in some of the productions. Green Day's American Idiot is undoubtedly one of the season's most ambitious projects. The concept: take one of the most successful rock albums of this generation and turn it into a Broadway musical - without adding a stitch (or nearly) of dialogue. The experiment, so far, has been a success, managing to win over theater minds largely unfamiliar with the rock/grunge genre, as well as music fans who, prior to it's opening, had never stepped foot in a Broadway house.
