The smash-hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT presents "American Idiot Gives Back", a day of special performances on Thursday, December 16 to benefit Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS.

The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT announced today that Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong will return to the role of 'St. Jimmy' for 50 performances beginning on January 1, 2011. Armstrong made a triumphant Broadway debut in a one week engagement last September and played to sold-out houses at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street.

According to Deadline.com, HBO has chosen not to go further with John Logan's Miraculous Year pilot. The Broadway star packed pilot was directed by Kathryn Bigelow. HBO reortedly decided to pass on the series becuase it did not have a wide enough appeal.

Many of everyone's Broadway and off-Broadway favorites, including Michael Urie, Wesley Taylor, Jennifer Damiano, Karen Olivo, Mitchell Jarvis and more have teamed up on the webisode project Billy Green.

Directed by David Esbjornson (The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?), Driving Miss Daisy began performances on October 7, 2010, at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), and officially opened Monday, October 25, 2010. The 16-week limited engagement runs through Saturday, January 29, 2011.

Immediately following this engagement, Mr. Armstrong will join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela on October 8, 2010 to kick off their South American Tour. Original Broadway cast member and current "St. Jimmy," Tony Vincent, will resume performances on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 following a leave of absence due to a personal family matter. Vincent's understudies, Joshua Kobak and Andrew Call, will cover the role from Tuesday, October 5 - Sunday, October 10, 2010.

Tony award-winning actress Lea Salonga ('Miss Saigon', 'Les Miserables') took time out to watch one of the most popular shows playing on Broadway Greenday's 'American Idiot' at St. James Theatre in New York City Wednesday evening, September 1, 2010. Ms. Salonga was accompanied by composer and lyricist Jay Kuo ('Worlds Apart', 'Insignificant Others'), who is also one of the associate producers of 'American Idiot'.

On Thursday, July 29th, Tony nominee Stark Sands from AMERICAN IDIOT visits MyFOX's Good Day New York. He talks about the show, his name, and meeting his future wife on a New Year's trip to England. Sands, who was nominated in 2007 for his role in JOURNEY'S END, plays Tunny in the Green Day musical.

From the show that's defied the critics, we spotlight the veteran gypsy and fiance of fellow dancer Megan Sikora.

Erik Altemus, currently appearing as Matt in the Off Broadway production of The Fantasticks, has been cast in the HBO pilot The Miraculous Year, written by John Logan (Red) and directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker). Altemus will play Brandon, a dancer.

Deadline.com reports that Susan Sarandon has been cast in HBO's 'The Miraculous Year' pilot. The pilot is written by John Logan, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, and includes music by Adam Guettel. Sarandon will play Patty Atwood, a director/choreographer.
