Assembly Festival, one of Edinburgh's leading Festival Fringe venues, has announced over 100 shows for its 2023 programme. The festival, which is housed year-round at Assembly Roxy, is returning to its familiar venues at Assembly Rooms, Assembly Hall, Assembly George Square and Gardens, and Assembly Checkpoint.

Artistic Director Michael Longhurst and Executive Director Henny Finch have announced the first three shows in the Donmar's 30th anniversary season and plans for the theatre's birthday celebrations.

The trustees of HighTide announced that they have appointed Clare Slater, currently Head of New Work at the Donmar Warehouse as the next Artistic Director of HighTide. She will lead the company alongside Executive Director Rowan Rutter as joint Chief Executives. Clare takes over from Suba Das, former Artistic Director and Chief Executive of HighTide.

Department Studios, Inc. and Myriad Entertainment announced today they have entered a global licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainmentto create a new and unique immersive experience inspired by the world of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains. 

Among the first shows to be back on stage are 2019 hit show Bromance (3 – 29 Aug) – a cutting edge show that wittily explores male companionship and its limits, from experimental acrobatic circus company Barely Methodical Troupe, and Nonsense Room Productions' interactive musical show You Choose (3 – 22 Aug) based on Pippa Goodhard and Nick Sharratt's picture book. 

Assembly Festival will host an exciting mix of theatre, dance, circus, comedy, music, and more, from Thursday 29 July to Sunday 29 August. Alongside this there will be a stimulating digital programme presented live or on-demand hosted on Assembly's new online venue, Assembly Showcatcher.   

Simon Evans is one of the country's best-loved stand-up comedians, with a loyal fan base who greatly appreciate his intelligent and independent scrutiny of the modern world. His tongue-in-cheek, often rueful attachment to traditionalism, and his scepticism towards the claimed achievements of progressive politics and modernist aesthetics, have set him apart from many of his contemporaries.

After opening the Footprints Festival with Biyi Bandele's Two Horsemen Street Theatre headlines June with Lucy Betts' acclaimed production of Ade Morris's Lone Flyer.  First staged at The Watermill Theatre last October, the production will run from 8 June to 3 July, playing to socially distanced live audiences as well as being streamed online.    

Two weeks after announcing Footprints Festival, today Jermyn Street Theatre has unveiled its full programme of 43 shows brought together to celebrate the theatre’s reopening this Summer. Running for three months from May to August this jamboree of live work comprises an exciting combination of familiar faces and new talent.

James Corden welcomes his friend David Tennant to the show, and David immediately sets the tone for a great chat thanks to his pink blazer. After the two discuss the pains of homeschooling, James asks David about Melissa Von Stressel, the name of his fake assistant that he used to get out of gigs and requests he didn't have the heart to say no to directly. And David talks about the process of making 'Staged' with his wife, Georgia, Michael Sheen and Simon Evans.

Staged is back on our screens, and this time David Tennant and Michael Sheen are bickering over an American remake of their own series.

The Donmar Warehouse announces today that it will present a special concert online to mark the festive season. LOOKING A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS will be performed in the beautiful setting of St Paul's Church (affectionately known as The Actors' Church), in the heart of Covent Garden and premiere online for free on the Donmar's YouTube channel on Wednesday 16 December, 7.30pm.

Chichester Festival Theatre's Festival 2020 has today been unveiled by Artistic Director Daniel Evans and Executive Director Kathy Bourne.

Production images are released today for the UK premiere of Will Eno's Drama Desk Award winning play The Realistic Joneses, now running at the Ustinov Studio until Saturday 7 March with opening night for press this evening. The full cast includes Corey Johnson as Bob, Sharon Small as Jennifer, Jack Laskey as John and Clare Foster as Pony. The production is the latest from Theatre Royal Bath Productions and is directed by Simon Evans.
