The Welsh National Opera chorus strike is paused after productive talks with interim management, signaling potential progress in resolving ongoing disputes.

Equity members in the chorus of the Welsh National Opera will pause their first and second days of strike action, previously planned for Saturday 21 and Sunday 29 September.

Members of the chorus of the Welsh National Opera (WNO) are being balloted for industrial action in a dispute over proposals to cut their pay by at least 15% and to reduce and rebalance the size of the chorus, already under resourced, with a process which will lead to a real threat of compulsory redundancy.

Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons will be starring together in a comedy from Simon Curtis, the director of My Week With Marilyn and Downton Abbey: A New Era. The forthcoming comedy will center on Nigel (Irons) and Marie (Close), playing former Broadway veterans who are now living in a retirement community. When they discover the hidden talents of their fellow residents, they decide to put on a show starring Nigel and produced by Marie.

Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) and Isabella Pappas (Stranger Things: The First Shadow) will feature in the video design for Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon.

One-woman show Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon with Charithra Chandran, the break-out star of the Netflix drama Bridgerton, will play a limited run at the Garrick Theatre.
