Niki Scalera to Perform with LV Phil in Concert at Smith Center Tonight

The Las Vegas Philharmonic's guest vocalist Sylvia McNair to be replaced by Niki Scalera for its Pops Concert: A Gershwin Valentine tonight, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. at The Smith Center. The Pops Series concert to feature George Gershwin's well-known melodies conducted by Peter Bay, Music Director of the Austin Symphony Orchestra.

Austrian Composer, Singer, Udo Jürgens Dies at Age 80

Udo Jürgens, Austrian composer and singer of popular music whose career spans over fifty years, has died at the age of 80. He is perhaps best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1966. But he also wrote more than 800 songs and sold over 100 million records. In 2007 he additionally obtained Swiss citizenship.

A celebration of Dame Shirley Bassey's illustrious career, THE BOY WHO LOVED BASSEY, is an unforgettable musical tribute written by Ben Cameron and Alan Winner, with musical direction by Andy Roninson, under the direction by Cameron and starring Winner. THE BOY WHO LOVED BASSEY, returns for a one night only special engagement tonight, December 18th, at 9:30 PM at the Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street, New York, NY 10010).
