Tudor history lovers from around the country will congregate in Manheim, Pennsylvania for three days of feasting, lectures from leading historians, music, and entertainment in the world's first Tudorcon from October 18-20, 2019.
You may have heard of the long journey of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS from a 1060 Roger Corman horror film (with a young Jack Nicholson) to a 1982 Off-Broadway hit musical, a 1986 film with Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, and Steve Martin, and a revival in 2003 this time on Broadway with Hunter Foster, Douglas Sills and Kerry Butler. And believe it or not, another revival coming to Off-Broadway previewing on September 17 and opening October 17 to the Westside Theatre Upstairs with Jonathan Groff, Tammy Blanchard, Christian Borle, and Kinglsey Leggs.
Manchester-based lo-fi surf punk outfit KATZ- comprised of Ben Williams (vocals, guitar), James Bradbury (lead guitar), Archie Wilkinson (drums)-releases their debut six-track EP 'Dumb Songs', available on all major platforms. The EP was entirely recorded on an original Tascam Portastudio 244 four track cassette recorder, all in the name of Lo-fi bliss. Listen here. The third song on the 'Dumb Songs', 'Feed Me Seymour', employs cinematic inspiration from the bloodthirsty plant in the classic 80's Broadway musical and film adaptation, Little Shop of Horrors. The TexARTS Professional Series presents Little Shop of Horrors with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. Performances take place October 4-20, 2019 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway.

Garry McQuinn and NIDA (Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art) have announced a collaborative partnership to produce the musical STARSTRUCK. Both organisations are keen to support the development of new Australian musicals: NIDA assisted as a platform to workshop the draft material in 2018 with students engaged with industry practitioners in a studio presentation. Following further development from writer Mitchell Butel and Hilary Bell, the piece will be realised under the direction of Kim Hardwick as a fully-staged performance as part of the NIDA October 2019 Season of Student Productions, co-produced with Garry's company RGM Productions in association with Palm Beach Pictures.
