Random Acts will launch a season of festivals on Saturday, June 10th, with a celebratory event at the Flat Iron Arts Building in Wicker Park.

Text Box 1a film by award-winning filmmaker Shannon Cohn and executive producers Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rosario Dawson, Corrine Foxx and Mae Whitman, tells the personal  and inspiring stories of four patients urgently searching for answers to mysterious symptoms and exposes widespread problems in the healthcare system.

The 2023 Lower East Side Film Festival (“LESFF”) will host a special 30th-anniversary screening of Richard Linklater's, 1993 cult classic, “Dazed and Confused” with live commentary from comedians, Jordan Carlos (The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore) and Phoebe Robinson (HBO's 2 Dope Queens, Everything's Trash) on Friday, May 5 at the Village East Cinema with a 9 pm showtime in Mystery Science Theater 3000 style.

​ The 2023 Lower East Side Film Festival (“LESFF”) has announced the programming for its 13th annual event, which includes exclusive feature film premieres, specialty short showcases, industry panels, and parties from May 4 - 8 at the Village East Cinema, DCTV Firehouse Cinema, plus virtually through May 14. Greenway Arts Alliance (Whitney Weston and Pierson Blaetz, Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors), in association with Da Poetry Lounge (DPL), will present THE 7th ANNUAL LA GET DOWN FESTIVAL, celebrating hip-hop and spoken word. Acclaimed actor, activist and philanthropist Rosario Dawson is the newest reader for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s children’s literacy program Storyline Online. Dawson reads her personal favorite Julius, the Baby of the World, written and illustrated by Kevin Henkes, and published by HarperCollins Publishers.

BERT “The Machine” KREISCHER the American stand-up comedian, actor and reality television star is returning to Australia with a brand-new show.

Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. In the letter, members assert, “Discrimination based on hair style or texture is a destructive practice that has alienated and caused irreparable harm to Black Americans.” 

Director/Producer Shannon Cohn, along with executive producers Rosario Dawson and Corinne Foxx hosted the Los Angeles Premiere of BELOW THE BELT last night (Saturday, October 1) at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood. The film is also executive produced by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mae Whitman.
