The Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre is one of six recipients of the Bank of America ACTivate Awards. The Bank of America ACTivate Awards, a Theatre Forward grants program, seeks to foster and accelerate theatres’ efforts to become more equitable, diverse, and inclusive of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color individuals and groups.

The Alley Theatre has announced the cast of Alley’s holiday tradition, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This brand-new adaptation by Artistic Director Rob Melrose is now coming to life on stage under his direction. Performances of A Christmas Carol begin Friday, November 18 and run through Friday, December 30 in the Hubbard Theatre.

Alley Theatre has announced Cambodian Rock Band as the second Hubbard production in the 2022-23 season. Co-producing with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Signature Theatre Production of Cambodian Rock Band is by Lauren Yee, featuring songs by Dengue Fever, and directed by Chay Yew and runs from January 20 – February 12, 2023.

The Alley Theatre announces the line-up for the 2022 Alley All New Festival, June 16 - June 26, 2022. The Festival will feature five new plays including readings, workshop performances, and an early draft preview. Festival playwrights include Monet Hurst-Mendoza, Austin-based Kirk Lynn completing a Thornton Wilder work, Kemp Powers, Don X. The 76th season also marks the return of the Summer Chills series, after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
