The American Film Institute announced today it will confer a Doctorate of Fine Arts degree honoris causa for contributions of distinction to the art of the moving image upon Michelle Yeoh, who will become the first Asian artist to receive the AFI honor; and a Doctorate of Communication Arts degree honoris causa upon AFI Trustee Emeritus Lawrence Herbert for his commitment to the mission of the American Film Institute.

The classic comedy Some Like It Hot will begin performances on Broadway this fall! After a government mandate and Covid-19 safety concerns shut down theatrical productions on its stage for two years, Penguin Rep Theatre will resume presenting plays, comedies and musical revues starting mid-March, artistic director Joe Brancato announced today.

The Green Room 42 has announced their March line-up for in-person performances. Located inside YOTEL Times Square (570 Tenth Avenue, Fourth Floor), The Green Room 42 is Broadway's newest and most spacious cabaret club.

The new series is structured with three distinct versions: an hour-long extended cut on discovery+, food-centric half-hour on Food Network at 12pm ET/PT and a companion podcast. The series' season one guests include Julianna Margulies, Erin French, Willie Geist, Rob Marshall, and John DeLuca.

The production features Emanuelle Araujo, in the role of sarcastic Velma Kelly; Paulo Szot, as  the charming and unscrupulous Billy Flynn (a role he currently played on Broadway); and Carol Costa as the “innocent” and surprising Roxie Hart. L. Candido (Mary Sunshine), Lilian Valeska (Mama Morton) and Eduardo Amir (Amos Hart) complete the main cast.
