Broadway Training Center of Westchester, one of the region's premier performing arts schools, will present 'Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical' December 3rd through 5th at Hastings High School in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. The show will feature Award-Winning Ensemble Program Students, Grades 4-12, from Westchester, Rockland, the Bronx, and Connecticut. 

Based on the 1988 children's novel of the same name by Roald Dahl, this musical was adapted by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. The musical follows Matilda who is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but finds refuge in reading library books, which she reads quickly. 

The Rochester Broadway Theatre League continues its 2021-2022 season with a classic from the 20th century film and children's literary canon, set to music and adapted for the stage. Road Dahl's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' features all the glitz, quirkiness and fantasy of the classic Gene Wilder film with snappy musical numbers, and magic that can only be found in live theatre.

With music and lyrics by Australian comedian and songwriter Tim Minchin and based on the book by Roald Dahl, “Matilda The Musical” tells the story of a remarkable little girl named Matilda Wormwood and her gallant struggle to create a better life for herself, despite the best efforts of the maliciously misguided adults determined to thwart her.

Theatre Arlington's 49th season will offer great musicals, family-friendly children's programming, prize-winning dramas, hysterical comedies and the return of a favorite holiday show – all on the brand-new, state-of-the-art Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Theatre stage. Zions Bank Broadway at the Eccles have announced that Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will play Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater from June 14 – 19, 2022.

Roald Dahl’s classic children’s story CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY has found its way to the stage as a musical, retaining some elements from the classic movies whilst diverging in some areas. Crown Theatre plays home to this stunning musical, treating the people of Perth to a world of pure imagination.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is a beloved and well-known story, from the book, two hit films, and now a musical which opens this week at Crown Theatre. Stepping into this world of pure imagination are Lucy Maunder and Stephen Anderson. I caught up with them to talk the musical and their experience with one of the world’s favourite stories.

WFT@BU has announced their season productions as part of their 40th anniversary year! WFT@BU will resume live, in-person productions in the spring of 2022 with The Wizard of Oz and Make Way for Ducklings. In the 2022/23 season, WFT@BU will produce Matilda, a To-Be-Determined production, and Bud, Not Buddy.
