Producing Director Jed Bernstein announced today the exciting line-up for the 2022 Theatre Aspen summer season. The 39th season, running from June 28 – September 15, will include two musicals, Gypsy, A Musical Fable and Jersey Boys, The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, and more.

The touring production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory seems an unlikely place to find  inspiration in reconciling the events of the world’s political stage, but when viewed in the context of the current sociopolitical climate, it seems possible. The lyrics of the song “Pure Imagination” appear to map out the catalyst for social change. “If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world? There’s nothing to it.”   The simplicity of that philosophy in song was written over the course of  a phone conversation between the composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley over 50 years ago. 

The Dakota Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) at the Washington Pavilion will present four performances of Roald Dahl's MATILDA THE MUSICAL from March 25–27, 2022, at the Orpheum Theater Center. Roald Dahl's MATILDA THE MUSICAL is DAPA’s first main stage season production in which child and adult actors will perform together. Molly Wilson plays Ms. Trunchbull, the villain of the story and Matilda’s teacher.

Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling's cultural hub, is at last celebrating its monumental 50th Anniversary year after the pandemic postponed celebrations due to start in September 2021. The cast has been announced for the upcoming World Premiere of a Roald Dahl magic show – a production of Roald Dahl's The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar which opens at Perth Theatre on 24 March and runs until 2 April before touring to Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling from 7 to 10 April and Eden Court, Inverness from 15 to 17 April.

Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is coming to the Schuster Center Thursday, May 26, 2022 through Saturday, May 28, 2022.

The season opens in Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday 25 January with a Lunchtime Concert by renowned international pianist Llŷr Williams, swiftly followed on Friday 28 January by magical musical show The Lost Words: Spell Songs featuring Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Kris Drever and many other top Scottish musicians. Perth Theatre welcomes Black Is The Color of My Voice on 3 and 4 February; the moving story of a jazz vocalist at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement inspired by the life of Nina Simone. Original Theatre Company’s Hound of the Baskervilles gives Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most celebrated adventure a brilliantly farcical overhaul from Tuesday 15 until Saturday 19 February.
