The Axelrod Performing Arts Center opens 'Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical' on Saturday, March 7, in a brand-new production created by Broadway director-choreographer Luis Salgado. 'Matilda' will run for three weekends through March 22.

A new Willy Wonka prequel film may soon come to the big screen! According to The Sun, the film is currently in development, and it will tell the story of how he made his fortune as a chocolatier and how he met the Oompa Loompas. It will also potentially star a woman in the title role.
MATILDA THE MUSICAL Extends One More Week in Manila

One more week has been added to the Manila season of the international tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL. The multi award-winning show, which is making its way to Manila for the very first time, opens at The Theatre at Solaire on 05 March 2020 and will now be running until 22 March 2020.
Olney Theatre Center Has Donated 434 Coats in Partnership with One Warm Coat

As part of its winter musical, Singin' in the Rain, Olney Theatre Center held a coat drive in partnership with One Warm Coat, a national non-profit organization dedicated to protecting community members from the cold. Patrons and community members attending performances were encouraged to bring in their new or gently used coats of all sizes for donation. In total, 434 coats were collected and distributed to Interfaith Works, a local non-profit in Rockville, MD.

A quick search of Music Theatre International's website will find five different venues within driving distance performing this show within the next year. On occasion a show comes along that puts a smile on your lips from the opening curtain to the final bows, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is that kind of show. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, presented by The American Theatre Guild, opened on Tuesday night at the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. The staged musical is adapted from the children's novel by Roald Dahl with book by David Greig, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman.
