New York City Center today announced complete casting for the Encores! production of Mack & Mabel. Joining previously announced cast members Douglas Sills as Mack Sennett and Alexandra Socha as Mabel Normand are Major Attaway (Fatty Arbuckle), Michael Berresse (William Desmond Taylor), Lilli Cooper (Lottie Ames), Ben Fankhauser (Frank Wyman), Jordan Gelber (Mr. Kessel), Evan Kasprzak (Freddy), Raymond J. Lee (Andy), Kevin Ligon (Eddie), Janet Noh (Ella), and Allen Lewis Rickman (Mr. Bauman).

Temple Theatre has announced casting for the World Premiere production of Hoagy Carmichael's Stardust Road. This exciting, original production will be co-produced by Temple Theatre and Hoagy Carmichael's son, Hoagy Bix Carmichael. At the helm of this new musical Journey of Hoagy Carmichael's classic music are co-conceivers director, Susan H. Schulman, choreographer, Michael Lichtefeld, (Broadway: Little Women, The Sound of Music, The Secret Garden, and Sweeney Todd), and music supervisor and arranger, Broadway maestro, Lawrence Yurman (Broadway: War Paint, It Shoulda Been You, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and Grey Gardens).

The American Theatre Wing's Jonathan Larson and MAC's John Wallowitch Award-winning songwriter Joel B. New presents an eclectic evening of his songs at The Green Room 42 on Saturday, October 6th at 9:30pm. Along with a lineup of singers from Broadway and beyond -- including Madge Dietrich (Kinky Boots), CK Edwards (Shuffle Along), Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women On The Verge…), Victoria Huston-Elem (Finding Neverland), Travis Kent (Disaster!), Richard Riaz Yoder (Hello, Dolly!), Ben Roseberry (Gentleman's Guide…), Hansel Tan (The Four Immigrants), and Michael Winther (Fun Home) -- New will perform highlights from his diverse collection of projects, many of which appear on his forthcoming sophomore album, sardonically entitled Joel B. New Is Trying Too Hard. The evening features musical direction by Gillian Berkowitz (Avenue Q), with New co-directing alongside Robbie Rozelle (Songs From Inside My Locker).

92nd Street Y's 48th season of Lyrics & Lyricists continued this weekend with an essential American story, Irving Berlin: American, celebrating Berlin's extraordinary life and work. On the occasion of the centenary of the writing of "God Bless America" - our nation's "other anthem," - artistic director, co-writer and choreographer, Noah Racey (Lyrics & Lyricists veteran, Thoroughly Modern Millie), and co-writer Cheryl L. Davis (Barnstormer, Maid's Door, Bridges) explore how the five-year-old Russian immigrant who arrived at Ellis Island speaking no English came to create songs that epitomize American music, and how he became the spokesman in song for the country that allowed him to flourish.
