Blue Pavement Productions is thrilled to announce the premiere of SURGE, written by Tanya Perez ( Downtown Urban Theater Festival Finalist 'Honor & Fidelity' at the Cherry Lane Theater, 2017 Audioverse Writing Finalist for ' Rincon') and directed by Rebecca Aparicio (2019-2020 Resident Director at The Flea, NYMF Winner 'Pedro Pan: The Musical'). SURGE will be performed on August 4th at 7PM for a one night only limited engagement at The Tank (312 W 36th St, New York, NY 10018) as part of their DarkFest.

Pedro Pan, winner of the 2017 NYMF Developmental Reading Series Award with book by Rebecca Aparicio and music and lyrics by Stephen Elkins, will be presented as an official selection of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's Next Link Project beginning July 10th at the Acorn Theatre on Theatre Row.

Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the 19 writers of 9 new musicals in this summer's Rhinebeck Writers Retreat. This year's writers include 2018 Jonathan Larson winners Andrew Farmer and Andrew Butler, 2018 Kleban winner Amanda Yasnowitz, Tony-winner Ken Davenport, 2018 Lucille Lortel winner for Outstanding Musical (KPOP) Max Vernon, Emmy winner Doug Katsaros, Obie winner Erin Courtney, and the writers of the podcast musical 36 questions who are developing their next musical, Chris Littler and Ellen Winter.

Now in it's 2nd year, Nasty Women Unite Fest, in association with Fractured Atlas, will bring together individuals who identify as women, trans, femmes, or non-binary for their annual art festival in New York City running June 5th - June 8th, 2018. The festival will be held at TheatreLab on June 5th & 6th and Stonestreet Studios on June 7th & 8th in NYC.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today 11 of the 12 productions slated for 2018 NYMF. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project selections, as well as the first of two invited productions. Now in its fifteenth year, the 2018 Festival will take place July 9th through August 5th at locations on West 42nd Street in New York City. Dan Markley serves as NYMF Executive Director and Rachel Sussman serves as Producing Artistic Director.
