Theatre Aspen received five nominations for The Colorado Theatre Guild’s 16th Annual Henry Awards for its productions of Rock of Ages and Chicago during the 2021 Summer Season.

Theatre Aspen announced today the complete casts and creative teams for the company’s 39th Season, which includes the Tony Award-winning musicals Gypsy and Jersey Boys on the mainstage, as well as the summer Cabaret Series at Hotel Jerome and additional programming and special events for the summer.

ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut will open their fourth and final production of the 2021-2022 season – Jonathan Larson's RENT, on May 28, 2022 at 8pm.

Chicago Dancers United (CDU), which supports the health and wellness of Chicago's professional dance community, announces the program for its 31st annual fundraiser, Dance for Life 2022, which takes place Saturday, August 13 at 6 p.m. at the Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Ida B. Wells Drive, Chicago, followed by an after-party at Venue SIX10, 610 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago.

The Auditorium Theatre (50 E. Ida B. Wells Drive) completes its popular Made in Chicago 2021-22 Dance Series with the return of Giordano Dance Chicago (GDC) performing its annual summer engagement for one night only, Saturday, June 11, at 7:30pm.

Little Island, New York City’s new public park in Hudson River Park by W. 13th Street, will begin performances for the 2021 Dance Festival tomorrow, Wednesday, September 15. The percussive dance focused festival is Co-curated by Little Island Artist-in-Residence Ayodele Casel and Torya Beard and will run through Sunday, September 19.

In celebration of their Broadway return, the cast of The Lion King performed this morning on Good Morning America! The cast began the performance from all across New York City-- from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Statue of Liberty-- and came together at the GMA studio in Times Square to a standing ovation.

The Broadway cast of The Lion King began rehearsals this week for the company’s reopening next month. As previously announced, The Lion King will resume performances on Tuesday, September 14 at the Minskoff Theatre.

Several years ago, Dance Lab New York pioneered its Broadway Choreography Intensive – a unique intensive for early-career choreographers to train specifically in theatrical choreography. As longtime fan of DLNY, I was thrilled to be accepted into the intensive myself, and I’m excited to take you into the studio with me.

Kimmel Cultural Campus has announced the much-anticipated return of in-person performing arts across their venues: the Kimmel Center, the Academy of Music, and the Merriam Theater. On September 18, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., Kimmel Cultural Campus will host a grand reopening event in Commonwealth Plaza to celebrate the start of the 2021-22 season.

The show, directed by Tony Award winner and Bares creator Jerry Mitchell and co-directed by Laya Barak and Nick Kenkel, featured 14 original numbers that opened the doors for 170 dancers to uncover fantasies and discover confidence in the wake of being stuck at home for so long.

The Broadway League hosted a free outdoor event centered around Black joy and unity that featured Black Broadway performers in a 90-minute concert with live music provided by The Music Performance Trust Fund.
