The UK and English Language première of Wendy Beckett's Sappho,  a new play inspired by the famous Greek poet integrating the original poetry with contemporary music and dance, will première at Southwark Playhouse Elephant on 8 May, with previews from 3 May and run to 25 May.

The story of the ascendance of young Aladdin from “street rat” to sultan in Agrabah, this morality tale about the importance of pure-heartedness, self-determination and using your power to help others is a straightforward, fun show that expands slightly on the original film’s memorable musical numbers.

Conflict draws near, and Tevye, a poor Jewish milkman, must navigate this changing terrain, raising five daughters and, ultimately, his faith in this unforgettable, classic musical. Winter is in full swing, which also marks the beginning of my second semester of college. I learned a lot from my first semester: it was a big adjustment, but overall I would say it was pretty successful. I learned that I love the independence of college, although it comes with a lot of responsibility. For example, I need to manage my time properly so I don’t fall behind on assignments.

Australian surf/skate rockers Hockey Dad release the second single this year, 'Base Camp' – which premiered on tastemaker Australian radio triple j yesterday – along with a video that continues the saga of a lowkey art heist. The band are also in the middle of a US headline tour, bringing their sunny surf rock from coast to coast.
