Christian Borle, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his role as 'Black Stache' in PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, recently departed his role for the filming of season two of NBC's SMASH. The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, a new play by Tony Award-nominee Rick Elice, announced today that a new block of tickets are now on sale, through January 6, 2013. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012 and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).

Cast members of Peter and the Starcatcher, including Celia Keenan-Bolger, Matthew Saldivar, Adam Chanler-Berat, Carson Elrod, Matt D'Amico, John Sanders, Betsy Hogg and Orville Mendoza today headed Off-Broadway to see SkippyJon Jones, the new children's musical written by their co-star, Kevin Del Aguila (Smee). Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening, American Idiot) and Trista Dollison (The Lion King) will head the cast of the NYMF production of STAND TALL at the 45th St. Theatre Mainstage from tonight, July 19th-July 29th.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hunger Games director Gary Ross will helm an upcoming film adaptation of PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS- the book on which the Tony-winning play is based. Jesse Wigutow is on board to pen the script.

In honor of the occasion, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has officially proclaimed July 11, 2012 as "Peter and the Starcatcher Day" in New York City.
