From October 11th-16th, we will be presenting multiple performances of four different plays, both new and from our repertory, in festival style with weekly all-access tickets available as well as tickets to individual performances. The works we are presenting were developed with our late Founder and Artistic Director Alice Spivak and continued in her honor by the ensemble she built.​

It was Ryan Murphy’s week on Netflix. His groundbreaking TV drama, DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, topped the English TV List for the third week in a row, with 205.33M hours viewed. And the limited series is now Netflix’s second most popular English language series of all time behind Stranger Things.

In Elegance Bratton's deeply moving film inspired by his own story, a young, gay Black man, rejected by his mother and with few options for his future. The film stars Jeremy Pope, Raúl Castillo, McCaul Lombardi, Aaron Dominguez, with Bokeem Woodbine and Gabrielle Union. Watch the new video trailer now!

Taylor Tomlinson has announced the 2023 dates of The Have It All Tour. The comedian’s perspective possesses a degree of wisdom that’s typically earned with age. With appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, CBS This Morning, Kelly Clarkson and more, Tomlinson is currently headlining her nationwide theater tour, Deal With It. 

Award-winning actor, singer, and songwriter Darren Criss will make his debut at Café Carlyle, November 29 - December 10. He will kick off the Christmas season in New York City with his new show, A Very Darren Crissmas: Live at Café Carlyle.

ENOLA HOLMES 2 is directed by Harry Bradbeer, with a screenplay by Jack Thorne and story by Harry Bradbeer & Jack Thorne.  Along with new friends and foes, it stars Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, David Thewlis, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Helena Bonham Carter. Rehearsals are under way for a new production of Nick Payne’s Evening Standard Award-winning Constellations at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre this autumn – believed to be the first in-the-round production of the show. Check out rehearsal photos here!

It's a family affair for WEDNESDAY with the new trailer for Netflix's upcoming series revealing comedy veteran Fred Armisen will portray beloved Uncle Fester. Next up for Broadway At The Bourbon Room, their Halloween Bash October 21, 2022; at, of course, The Bourbon Room.  I had the opportunity to chat with Broadway At The Bourbon Room’ s newly appointed associate director Tianna Louise Cohen.

It surprised the industry this week when playwright David Adjmi went public about his own tale of developing an Oscar Levant play with Sean Hayes – and not the one that will be seen on Broadway this spring. It has become a he said/they said battle, but BroadwayWorld has the most info in the war of words thus far, including emails between Adjmi and Hayes.

If you’ve ever seen a MAP Theatre show, Dear Readers, then you know they tend toward the odd little stories laced with humor, but ultimately fairly dark and twisted. But you also know they tend to do those odd little stories, quite well. Their current production of Brian Dang’s “A White Haunting” is certainly no exception. But while I enjoyed the show, the production, and the premise, the script itself felt like it was having issues finding a satisfying ending.

Beginning on November 9 and running through December 11, Studio Theatre will bring Duncan Macmillan's People, Places & Things to the stage. The play will be directed by Studio Theatre Artistic Director David Muse, making his first in-person directorial appearance since the pandemic, and will be only the second production in Studio Theatre's new Victor Shargai Theatre.
