Award winning musical theatre writer Michael Finke is set to make his debut at Broadway's newest intimate concert venue, The Green Room 42 on Friday May 24th at 9:30 p.m. The Music of Michael Finke will be featured as part of The Green Room 42's New Works Series.

In celebration of outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre performances, Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the award recipients of the Eighth Annual Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards (IHSMTA) sponsored by NBC 5: Jacob Simon of Deerfield, IL (Deerfield High School) as BEST ACTOR for his portrayal of Bobby Child in CRAZY FOR YOU and Marguerite Reed of Palos Park, IL (Mother McAuley High School) as BEST ACTRESS for her portrayal of Betty Haynes in IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS. Jacob and Marguerite will represent the state of Illinois at The Jimmy Awards (also known as The National High School Musical Theatre Awards ) in New York on June 24, 2019.

Chestnut) on Monday, May 6, 2019, hosted by NBC 5's entertainment reporter LeeAnn Trotter and sponsored by CHICAGO THE MUSICAL (which will play at the Cadillac Palace Theatre from May 7-12). The Illinois chapter of The Jimmy Awards (National High School Musical Theatre Awards) one of the largest programs in the country serves as an annual national celebration of outstanding achievement in musical theater performance by high school students.

Second Stage Theater has announced SOMMER CARBUCCIA, MATT DALLAL, JAKEIM HART, ERIKA HENNINGSEN, KENNEDY KENAGAWA, ALEC MATHIESON, SARAH NAUGHTON, GABRIELLA PEREZ, JONATHAN RAVIV, NATHAN SALSTONE and KYLE SELIG will perform SATURDAY NIGHT as a part of the special concert series, MUSICAL MONDAYS, in celebration of the acclaimed company's 40th anniversary. Ahead of the performances, we spoke with Rozelle by phone about SONGS FROM INSIDE MY LOCKER, how intense heading up a Kickstarter can be, and his recent BWW Cabaret Awards success.

After creating shows for Jessica Vosk, Melissa Errico, Kate Baldwin and Nikka Graff Lanzarone, writer/director Robbie Rozelle turns the tables on himself with two performances of his debut solo show to be preserved as part of Broadway Records' Live at Feinstein's/54 Below series. Songs From Inside My Locker is written by Robbie Rozelle and features musical direction and arrangements by Josh D. Smith, with a six-piece band known collectively as 'The Two Drink Minimum.' Special guests include Bonnie Milligan (Head Over Heels) and Maya Days (Aida).

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presented "Broadway is 850 Strong," a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Michael on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 9:30 pm. The Florida Panhandle was completely devastated by the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Michael. Michael was one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall in the United States. The Panhandle, which is area code 850, took a direct hit. Thousands of people lost their homes, schools and hospitals were destroyed, and area businesses were obliterated.

Former Jimmy Awards nominees, representing every year of the program, reunited for the celebration which included special duet performances from alumni currently on Broadway and in Touring Broadway shows. Joining the festivities was special guest Patti Murin, currently starring in Broadway's Frozen.
