BWW Review: TUCK EVERLASTING at White Plains Performing Arts Center
by Peter Danish
- Aug 9, 2019
According to their website, WPPAC's STAGE 2 'bridges the gap between the WPPAC Educational Department offerings and the Mainstage, giving college and community performers the opportunity to work in a regional theatre setting under the guidance of professional artists.' No such disclaimer is necessary for their new production of Tuck Everlasting, it is every bit as first-rate as their mainstage productions.

BWW Review: CM Performing Arts Center Production of PIPPIN Is "On the Right Track"!
by Nicholas Pontolillo

The Noel S. Ruiz Theater at CMPAC does it again with their production of Pippin. Pippin was a wise choice to wrap-up CMPAC's 43rd season. Inspired by the real-life individuals of the early Middle Ages, Charlemagne and his hunchbacked son Pippin, the show tells the fictionalized story of the young prince in search for meaning and significance in his life.

BWW Review: THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME at The Argyle Theatre
by Anthony Hazzard & Scott Stolzenberg
- Nov 19, 2018
Ring them bells! Director Evan Pappas' lavish production of 'The Hunchback Of Notre Dame' is the newest spectacle at The Argyle Theatre at Babylon Village and crowds are flocking to the timeless tale based on the Victor Hugo novel. A youthful troop of multitalented professionals tell the familiar story of the sensitive monster banished from society who charms its way into those with accepting and loving hearts. No not Elphaba from Wicked nor Shrek or The Elephant Man, but Quasimodo, the underdog locked in the cathedral who spends his life dreaming of a better one.

BWW Review: RAGTIME at the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre
by Melissa Giordano
- Feb 28, 2018
I had the honor of seeing the original Broadway cast of the Tony winning musical Ragtime as my very first Broadway show. So, as you can guess, I am absolutely ecstatic to see that the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center has added it to their fantastic Spring/Summer schedule. This exciting and well done incarnation, kicking off their 42nd season, is excellently directed by Matthew W. Surico running through March 24th at the adorable Oakdale venue.
BWW Review: HAIRSPRAY at Smithtown Performing Arts Centre
by Melissa Giordano
- Jul 13, 2016
Of the many productions that will come and go of the Tony award winning musical Hairspray, the incarnation at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center is incredibly enjoyable. Running through August 28th under the excellent direction of Long Island theatre vet Jordan Hue, the talented cast will leave you singing the Marc Shaiman/Scott Wittman score for weeks. To add, the book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan will indeed stand the test of time as we progress towards full equality at every level.
BWW Reviews: 'It's All Happening' with BRING IT ON at CM Performing Arts Center
by Brian Rivera
- Jan 21, 2015
The lobby of the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center was bustling with excited audience members for the opening night of “Bring It On: the Musical”: its Long Island Premiere. Though the show started about twenty minutes late, that excitement held true through the entire show. Along with the guest I had brought with me, I had never seen the musical nor heard any of its music; but we assumed we would love it because we trust most of Lin-Manuel Miranda's artistry. “How bad could it be?”
