Astoria Performing Arts Center Presents BILLY WITCH, Now thru 11/17

THE ASTORIA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (APAC) has announced the New York premiere production of Gregory S. Moss's (punkplay, House of Gold) BILLY WITCH, choreographed by Wendy Seyb (The Pee Wee Herman Show, Yeast Nation), with original music by Nathan A. Roberts, musical direction by Brenna Sage and directed by Erik Pearson (Billy Witch, Studio 42). BILLY WITCH will play a limited engagement at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (30-44 Crescent St, Astoria, NY. Entrance on 30th Road.) Performances begin tonight, November 1 and continue through Saturday, November 17. Opening Night is Saturday, November 3 (8 p.m.).

Fresh off its acclaimed run at the Cleveland Play House, One Night with Janis Joplin will take D.C. audiences on a musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends. The production is led by Cleveland native Mary Bridget Davies, who performs with Joplin's original band Big Brother and the Holding Company, and also features Sabrina Elayne Carten as the Blues Singer who pays homage to the artists that influenced Joplin's incomparable blues-rock blend. Created, written and directed by Randy Johnson, the production is produced in partnership with Cleveland Play House in association with Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich of Premiere Media, with support from The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeff Jampol of JAM, Inc. One Night with Janis Joplin runs September 28 - November 4, 2012 in the Kreeger Theater. Check out photos from the show's opening night party below!

Mike Tyson might have already made his Broadway debut in UNDISPUTED TRUTH, which played the Longacre Theatre over the summer, but according to the Telegraph, he would like to star in a musical next. He told the Telegraph: 'I want to dance and sing. I want to do some dancing and singing musicals.'

NYPD Investigating Twitter Threats on Longacre Theatre

According to CBS New York, Broadway's Longacre Theatre, currently the home of MIKE TYSON: UNDISPUTED TRUTH, has been under the threat of attack from a still unidentified Twitter user. Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne told CBS that the NYPD is currently working with Twitter to find the user's information. Some of the Tweets, which were made August 3-4, included:
