Producers Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson) and Barbara Whitman are thrilled to announce the casting for the Houston engagement of the first National Tour of FUN HOME, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical.

This afternoon, Tony Award winning producer Mike Isaacson (The Humans, Fun Home, Bring it On The Musical, Red, Legally Blonde, Caroline or Change) received the Commercial Theatre Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Achievement in Commercial Theatre Producing. 

The Muny announced today that Davis Gaines will play the role of Joseph Pulitzer, rounding out the principal cast for Newsies, the seventh and final production of its 99th season. Design teams were also announced for this production, which plays August 7- 13. Newsies is proudly sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.

The Muny announced today its full cast and design teams for The Unsinkable Molly Brown, the fifth production of its 99th season, which plays July 21-27. The Unsinkable Molly Brown is proudly sponsored by Ameren. With great gratitude, the board of the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards announced today that Wells Fargo Advisors has contributed $30,000 as the Presenting Sponsor of the inaugural St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards to be held on Sunday, May 28 at 7 p.m. at The Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Following its initial casting announcement, The Muny announced today additional principal casting for its spectacular 99th season. This star-packed group includes a mixture of some of the brightest names from stage and screen, with many making their Muny debut this summer.

The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The season continues with the premiere of All Shook Up! and a newly re- envisioned The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Season 99 closes with A Chorus Line and the much- anticipated Muny debut of Newsies.

It was initially scheduled for March 14th but was rescheduled due to snowstorm Stella.

???????17 metro area high school acts (29 individual finalists) will compete in the 7th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition Saturday, April 8th at 8pm at The Fabulous Fox Theatre (a list of acts can be found here).

The 2017 Robert Whitehead Awards Ceremony originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, has been postponed due to inclement weather. A new date and time will be announced shortly.

On Saturday, March 4th, 40 metro area high school acts competed in the Semi-final round of the 7th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition.  St. Louis performing arts professionals judged the acts and narrowed the field to 17 acts (29 individual finalists) who will move on to the finals on Saturday, April 8th at 8pm at The Fabulous Fox Theatre (a list of acts can be found here).  These acts are one step closer to performing on the Fox Stage and winning college scholarships, prizes and performance opportunities.  'We couldn't be happier with the level of talent this year.  While we usually only advance 12-13 acts to the finals, this year is an exception and we have 17 qualifying acts!' exclaimed Mary Strauss, Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation Board President.  The final competition is a Broadway-style show that is FREE and open to the public.  General Admission tickets are required and available now at no charge at The Fabulous Fox box office and through Metrotix.  

At tonight's St. Louis's annual Arts & Education Council Awards dinner, Broadway artist Beth Malone announced that she will star in the title role of The Muny's 2017 production of The Unsinkable Molly Brown. The production will run from July 21-27, and will be directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall. The Unsinkable Molly Brown has music and lyrics by Meredith Willson, with additional lyrics and book by Dick Scanlan, based on the original book by Richard Morris. Music adaptation is by Michael Rafter.

Broadway Backstory, a documentary-style podcast in which each episode finds out how a show develops from an idea to a full Broadway production, has just released their latest episode. The episode tracks LEGALLY BLONDE on it's journey to Broadway.

???????Beth Malone, who created the role of "Alison" in the 2015 Tony Award winning Best Musical Fun Home, will perform at the 26th annual St. Louis Arts Awards on Mon., Jan. 23, at the Chase Park Plaza. For her work in Fun Home, Malone received a Tony Award nomination as Best Actress in a Musical.
